Razer Kraken ear cup size?
I've been looking for a new headset as my old one finally kicked the bucket, and one of the ones I was considering, as the title would suggest, is the Razer Kraken. One of the most common complaints with this is that it doesnt fit around the ears and squeezes your head.

So, can someone that currently owns one of these measure the inside of one of the ear cups and relay the results? My last headset was ~2.5" and it fit great, so hopefully these are around that area...

I don't have them next to me right now (will edit when I do) but I have a massive head - probably a foot and a quarter wide - and my Kraken Forged are pretty darn comfortable. I'd say they're right around the 2.5 inch range, defintely.

Yea, I was looking into those as well. I just wanted to make sure that these fit before I compared them side-by-side...

I used to own both the Razer Kraken and Logitech G430, till I opted for A40 headset.

From my usage of the Kraken, the ear cups could barely cover my ear, and thanks to the fake leather material and closed ear design, it does tend to get hot around the ears due to the little breathing room. Thanks to the closed ear design, you can drown out the world around you.

For the G430, the headset does cover my ears comfortably, has a nice soft fabric type material, open ear design, to keep the it nice and cool, especially during long gaming sessions. Drawback is that you can hear the environment around you. The neat thing about this, is that you can remove the ear cuffs and give it a nice gently wash. Also comes with a detachable USB digital audio convertor, so you are not tied to a digital audio device that you don't want to use.

Both use their own proprietary software to play virtual dolby 7.1, it just greatly depends what you would like to use.

Regards to the A40 headset that I am using, it's almost like a cross between the two. Nice cushion based ear cuffs, (I guess) a slightly closed feel so that you don't hear the environment as much, but enought to know that you are needed if called upon. Like the G430, the headset covers the ear. You can double this as a handsfree headset for your phone.

Whether you use any of the headsets that I mentioned or stick the with the kraken, you will not be disappointed in them.

BTW, BestBuy usually have demo ware of the Kraken, and the G430... don't know if they have one for the A40. Gamestop has a demoware of the A40, don't recall if they have them for both Kraken and G430.
