The 970 was literally the only thing I changed. I recently got a new driver for the GPU, but it was happening before that.
the first GTX 970 i bought had a faulty HDMI port (EVGA ACX 2.0). try plugging it in a different monitor / display. or while it's running apply some pressure on the HDMI plug on the gpu to see if the flickering stops / happens. this was the exact same issue i had with mine. it could very well be an issue with the HDMI port on your display//
Applied pressure to both ports, nothing happened and remained normal. I'm completely clueless right now :/.
I will use it on my brothers monitor and see if it continues.
yep, i was going to suggest this. if it still happens RMA your card.
Going to try now.
I got the card for free, so I wouldn't know what to do.
it should still have a manufacturers warranty. was it a gift from someone who bought it new??
It's complicated, I got it through my University with this John Plus Books Card, thus it was free.
I'm running it on my brothers montior, nothing has happened so far, I'll play a few game sand see if anything happens
call the maufacturer and find out via it's s/n. i've bought a couple 2nd hand GPU's that didn't come with a Box or receipt and they still honored the warranty. XFX, MSI and Asus. not one asked for proof of purchase. only a serial number. Good luck!
Nothing has happened. I connected my old monitor my borthers computer and nothing has happened to his either.
What make / model is your 970?
PNY 970 OC 4GB
It's happened with my brothers monitor too :/
you need to get a hold of the manufacturer and see if they will exchange it for you. i think they offer a 1 year warranty on stuff like this. it's best to call or email them about it and provide a serial number of the product which should be a sticker located on the PCB. or on the box itself.
This person had the same issue and when they RMA'd him a different GPU the issues stopped.
