Recommended fan/heatsink for overclocking an i7-4790k?

Could anyone mind give me some suggestions for a fan/heatsink that can be used to account for overclocking a (future) i7-4790k? Not too much just from the initial 4.0 Ghz to possibly 4.4 or 4.7

Please no liquid cooling. Im not comfortable/skilled enough to install them and wouldn't want to rekt my build by experimenting

Using an NZXT Phantom with (I think) 5 or 6 fans so the internal temps are good. About 36c currently.

Just need a proper fan and heatsink that isnt too large that it blocks airflow, but also enough to be better than the stock fan.

Self contained watercoolers like this are not difficult to install. No maintenance, filling, anything required:

I wasnt even aware of the self containing ones...I sort of avoid liquid cooling because about 7 years ago I botched taking off a cooling system and got water all over the PC completly destroying the mobo, video card and a single RAM chip. Havent really gone back to it since then ...but these self contained kits look nice especially with the size...

so it comes already assembled? Just need to fit it on like a normal fan/heatsink?

Yes, the pump comes with the plumbing to the radiator already installed and filled. All you have to do is mount the pump/block on your CPU with the bracket, install any fan(s) onto the radiator, mount the rad to your case and connect the fan and pump connections. Its a nice product. NZXT and other brands make similar water coolers.

For mild overclocking that Cooler Master Hyper 212 is widely recommended by the internet.

Wow that does sound significantly easier than I thought. Thanks for the explanation and recommendations. Im still open to other recommendations, but this certainly cleared up a good amount of my fears on liquid cooling so thanks for that! :)

This is true. It would be wise to find the product dimensions somewhere online and then do some measurements of your case around the CPU area. See if it will fit where your rear or top exhaust fan are on your Phantom case OP.

One of, if not THE best, air coolers is the Noctua NH-D15 (or its D15S variant). Noctua's mounting system is very easy to work.

Thanks for the warning. Guys. Yeah I got my eyes on that corsair H80i. Looks really easy to install and certainly doesn't take up much space at all. For someone like me who just can't master the art of wire management this is really good lol

I like the Noctua NH-L9x65 too, but Ive been doing this whole red, white, black scheme. Everything from the keyboard to the even the RAM sticks all match and the brown that seems consistent with Noctua would just kill it. Sounds like a stupid detail, but I mean I've gone this far with the theme and can't really back out now lol

These also look pretty decent, but might be a bit too large. I used to use a NZXT HAVIK 120, which was a pretty large heatsink/fan for an AMD 8350 and it ended up doing more harm than good.

This is what i've been using in all 3 of my desktops. They work great and keep my OC'd FX8350, 4770k, i7 960 at respectable temps. not too loud either even at full speed.

Now Im eyeing the H50 (seems to be the "new" version of the H80i without getting the new version:

Fits in my phantom and is LGA 1150 compatible. Does that sound like a good fit for overclocking an i7-4790k to 4.4 or 4.7.

Ive seen some threads so far of people using them to clock even older models higher (one guy was clocking an i7 930 to 4.0 with it and people said that a push-pull configuration would work).

if you plan on overclocking the h80i would be a much better choice. the h50 only comes with 1 fan, thinner radiator, smaller hoses, and a weaker heatsink/pump. not to mention it's mounting hardware is a pain in the ass compared to the h80i
