[SOLVED] Connecting Xbox Series S controller in Proton

Steam itself sees my Xbox Series S controller and responds to it perfectly in config, but games are not receiving input.

Is there something I am able to do on Steam to tell games to use a specific controller?

You need to select a profile for said game for the controller. Do that in Steam.

I realized I needed to set "forced input on" in each game setting I use. That made it work.
