How old is your F710 controller? Probably just needs to be taken apart and cleaned + lubed.
The PS5 will still work in all games, it's just that some game developers haven't put in PS5 button prompts. Some games have them but you need to disable Steam Gamepad input per title in order to see them.
Whether it's better or not? Hard to say. I use a PS5 gamepad and I'm perfectly fine with it.
I've used PS controllers since Playstation 3. They work fine and given a little time seeing Xbox prompts becomes normal. You see Y and instinctively press Triangle. Made hopping on Xbox with my brother and nephew soooo much easier as I knew what button to press.
all LAMEstation controllers must use a conversion program to work like a basic 360 controller and a lot of games DO NOT support that software.....steaming pile helps as its overlay will give the LAMEstation controllers support but even this extension has problems with some games.....
Xbox series X controller has the best support. It just works as it should in every game.
PS5 controller has unique features like adaptive triggers, haptic feedback, microphone and a tiny speaker that sometimes is used in games for extra sounds. It also has a touchpad that can be used for mouse cursor.
I personally like the ps5 controller a lot but the support is not always perfect.
There is a noticeable difference between controllers. Like the analog stick controls your character more fluid when cheap ones act like using WSAD. Or the quality of vibration. Especially in ps5 controller.
Sorry but I can't stand the alternate thumbstick positions. Actually ut a third party controller on brother Xbox that is layed out like a PS style controller...Logitech F something I think
Xbox controller is the way it is because MS made Directinput API in 95 for controllers then Xinput for Xbox in 2005. Only logical that the company behind the APIs would use the same button identifiers. If they made Xinput with 1234 instead of ABXY we'd all see 1234.
The reason i like the offset thumbsticks is that i can press the D pad with the edge of my thumb without taking it off the thumbstick...
Fair enough, pretty good reason there. I'd still prefer comfort of symmetrical layout, maybe if I'd never held a PS controller before the Xbox I'd feel different.
