I need to convert steam into an msix installer
I want to install steam onto my xbox using dev mode but it only will take msix and appx installers and not a exe or an msi any help in converting steam into one of these or any alternatives you could suggest, I just wanna play pc games on my xbox since i do the same with emulators on it.

Run it on what though?
Steam supports MacOS, WinOS, Linux. Nothing else. The Steam apps for other platforms such as iOS/Android are for game streaming or simply to get on your Steam stuff such as Store, Community Forum, Support, Friends Chat... you can't play Steam games natively on other platforms or Consoles.

Even if you could convert Steam .exe to allow you to install it on Xbox, which I doubt, you're unlikely to be able to get a single game run on Xbox hardware. They are tuned for PC hardware NOT console specific hardware. Plus you haven't even specified which version of an Xbox you were wanting to install Steam on.

The Xbox only runs UWP apps, Steam is not an UWP app.

The Xbox is just a locked down Windows machine. It can install any UWP app, these apps are compatibile with all modern Windows devices.

Maybe you recall me once converting a Windows 10 machine to run the Xbox UI.

Still that doesn't mean support for the full desktop Win32 APIs. And it definitely doesn't support an app that downloads executable code on first startup, then downloads more executable code when you install from your Library.

As for creating a .msix, that involves completely installing the app you want to package using the packaging tool to monitor your system as you install and complete the first launch of the app.

and the console hardware is nowhere near as powerful as pc hardware

games for consoles are designed to run on the consoles
on the fly res scaling, image blurring ot keep fps at or above 30
and all drivers for the console are exactly the same, so all games will run on them exactly the same

even on xs/x and ps5 the ssd is tied/soldered to the board and cannot be changed

they use closer to pc hardware, but it is still a console

use a pi, or smart tv with android steam app, to browse store, or steam chat app to chat with friends, or steam link app to control host pc

you would not be able to install steam desktop client on the xbox, and install and play windows games natively on the xbox
