after removing my laptop battery game performance is worse
anyone know about laptop batteries? I removed mine because it was bloated and tried to play, performance is awful and even with the new battery its the same. I have lower frame rate and it seems that there is some kind of input delay.

is this only when running off the battery? does it perform fine if you plug it in?

hmm.... it should still bypass the battery... tho if you got a bad battery it can act as a bit of an impedance drawing power from a charge source... I'm thinking bad battery.

try removing the battery and running it straight off AC.

what metric are you measuring to determine your performance is worse anyways? cuz that makes no sense.

didn't TF2 just recently roll out a big update? could that have affected your framerates? maybe it messed with your settings?

idk, I just don't know what else it could be if your power settings aren't messed up.

edit: unless whatever caused your last battery to need replacing damaged the computer in some way? you didn't spill something on it did you? :P

If I recall correctly this is normal behavior because laptop uses the battery to help regulate its power draw in the event that its power draw exceeds the amount the A.C. adapter can supply. You basically removed a giant capacitor from your laptop. If you're not going to put it back in, which you probably shouldn't, you'll need a new battery. Hopefully you still have the old one so you can check the spec.

problem is i got a new battery and its still like how it was without a battery
the whole power supply is in the power brick... it's got more than enough power form the wall.
Replace the power brick as well. The bloated battery could have caused slight damages to your power brick to where it never is able to output the full power that the laptop needs; but is enough power to have everything functioning.

For power bricks and batteries for Laptops, it really helps to try and buy a legit/authentic original and not a knock-off. I've seen some cheaper knock-offs are OK on some Laptops, but in general, avoid the Chinese re-makes of stuff like that. Many of the original laptop batteries for most brands are made in Japan and this does make a big difference.

shouldn't matter if you have a good battery, but ya it could have been a short that fried the brick and battery.
