Alienware AW3423DWF pixel refresh questions?

I got this monitor a few week ago and am very happy with it. But a bit confused about the process of pixel refresh. The monitor is up to date. I have read how to do it but not for sure how long it takes, should my pc be off or on kind of things. I did turn of the auto refresh and was going to do ut manually. So any help here would be great. Thanks.

Idk, the pixel refresh popped up yesterday and I let it do its thing. But, it was going on for 10-15 minutes, so I cancelled it. I read it should only take like 7 minutes, but that wasn’t the case and that it was supposedly to do it when the monitor shuts off. I use Hibernate though. I said baa, screw it. I have another monitor hooked up, but to lazy to move monitors around. If it burns up, I’ll just get another monitor. Hope that helps. Lol. I still have refresh on, but it doesn’t pop up as much as it use to. I like to know more too, but got tired of baby it.

I did the manual pixel refresh and it only took about 7 minutes, but to do the Panel refresh said would take an hour. That’s suggested when leaving a static image on for several hours. That’s one thing I try not to do and will play a video in the back ground and move things around for it isn’t static.

The pixel refresh isn't so bad, I do it immediately upon starting my PC and also when I power it off if it's been almost four hours. I typically get up and do other things whilst it is refreshing.

The 1500 hour panel refresh is something that I had to do recently...the light will blink red instead of green whilst the panel is refreshing. It takes quite a long amount of time, maybe 40-45 minutes, and the indication that it is almost done, is that you'll see what look like horizontal lasers moving down on the monitor

I don't have the Alienware monitor, but for reference: I have the Corsair 27QHD240 with the LG W-OLED panel, and the monitor does the pixel refresh automatically when the PC is off / hibernated, or the monitor is turned off and had been in use for over 8 hours or more since the last refresh.
It takes about 15 minutes, and there is no need to run it manually unless you really want to.

Oh, it must have been the panel refresh that I canceled after 10-15 minutes, because it was the red light. And I actually switch to my other monitor before I hibernate and don’t see it turning red or green. I’ll have to stop switching monitors before I hibernate and see if that changes anything.

Stop powering oleds off let them when doing shutdown automatically run the pixel refresh. The led will turn green thats how you know. Let the panel do it.


And update firmware.

Turn the settings back to automatic and let the display do its thing. You're making it more difficult than it needs to be. Generally speaking if you have it set to auto it will run when you turn the display off after every 8 or so hours of use.
