Do I HAAAAAAVE TO cave in & just get Windows 11?
I want to build a PC, but the biggest hurdle is 11.
Is it worth it, despite being 11?

I heard Windows 10 LTSC might be worth looking into, since it's a version of Windows 10 that will have much longer support. Haven't done it myself, so I can't say how good it is, but it might be worth checking out.

You do not understand Linux.
bud i use a pi, i use dietpi. you can use anyone of them, they are all quirky.
not long ago linux lost all of my pi's settings and stopped the pihole app.
anyway. it seems you just post things at face value.
you seem to not know anything.
Linux has quirks. Windows has quirks. Mac OS has quirks. Everything has quirks, and especially if you move from one system to another you will encounter them. There really is no perfect system, you just have to pick the imperfections you are ok with.

Except TempleOS, of course. TempleOS is perfect.

im not okay witth linux goslty removing all settings.
this is not the first time and it wont be the last. i believe it is a flaw in linux itself.

It doesn't do that. You just do not know how to use it.

i don't? since pi is pretty new you need a lot of guides to program it.
and again im not a born yesterday person. don't patronize me.
im not talking about the first time it happenend on pi.
its happened on a few of them.
it was bad on ubuntu 10. never used any other ubuntu again.
and ubuntu is the easiest version of linux, set and forget.
until the config itself goes wobbly.

I have no idea what settings those are, but I've never had that problem so I doubt it's Linux itself. Why it happened to you I cannot answer.

Either way, perhaps we should try and help OP instead of talking about the merits of Linux. We're derailing the thread a bit.

1. The Raspberry Pi is over 12 years old.
2. You do not "program" it.
3. Exactly, you need guides, you do not understand how to use Linux and then blame it for your own lack of know-how.
4. Pi Linux is identical to any other Linux, any documentation which works for any other platform is easily ported to the Pi and is usually 1:1 compatible.

So let's get this straight.. you're using a router that they stopped releasing security updates for, 5 years ago. And they will never update it again. And you some how think you are secure on the internet in this situation.

You just seem to repeatedly demonstrate your complete lack of technology in public...:steamfacepalm:
i dunno how they gonna get into it without my mac address for it.

Your router is connected to a public network, if it has a layer3 vulnerability wtf does someone need its MAC address? Also, you clearly don’t know what arp is…

I never claimed it was "no bloat", though, I claimed it would be supported for quite a few more years. Think it's going to be supported into the 2030s, unless I misremember.

I don't think you can get "no bloat" with Windows, anyway. You can reduce the bloat, but not reach "no bloat".

which public network is my router connected to?
my router is an isolated network because of my pi. and the only thing my router does is use the ip my isp gave me and lets the modem through. the modem itself has a type of firewall too.
i dare you to to try it on me. my routers ip is 192.168.1.1
this is the host info from my ip.
no im not giving you the rest so you can't see where i live.
233.191
with that you have the ability to find the rest if you know what you are doing.

That is not how this works. Steam, the service you are using right now, is not your ISP, and your router seems to let it through just fine.

It being reachable on the internet means it is public.
unless you want to buy a black market win10 key from "bob's totally legit computers", yes.
