No, because it's still unstable and they fired all the QA

Not in Microsoft's financial interests, they will never make WIndows good. They would sooner kill it off.

Save for who? If for Microsoft, not really. They like the sweet money. If for users, yeah. It would. For powerusers? Depends on the person.

i don't have any of that. and i removed the ai already.

also they don't force that any more, that was in a preview update.

You do have it, it is still there, you are just in blissful ignorance about it.

If you are located in the EU or another location with strong data privacy laws it does withhold Microsoft from using dragnet methods of data collection, outside of these locations it is open season and they can do whatever they please.

An account is forced on both mainline Windows 10 and 11, unless they changed this (again) very recently.

There are ways around the account requirement, but it is on purpose made to be a chore.

lol i have pi i can see if they are looking for telemetry. its blocked on my pi btw. and the only ping i get from ms any more is the "settings" ping when the update check runs.

and the only telemetry ms may get from you if you disable it in windows is the GFX card. you can see the log of the telemetry if you look hard enough.

the account don't ping you.

no its not. a gfx card isn't a telemetry thing. its just a piece of hardware.
they only know the model.

hello

I am may be a little curious but if you "removed" from you ♥♥♥♥♥♥ w11 os, what was the point to block it on a pi like you seem to say.
And a pi by itself does nothing about that.... So feel free to give us more valuables informations we are all very interresting xd

oh i blocked long ago, when there was no bloat free version yet and no guides to remove all bloat.

Can someone explain to this ignorant foreigner what all this paranoia about telemetry is about?

They don't want Microsoft looking over their shoulder and taking info about their device, even when some of it looks relatively harmless.

There are different levels of telemetry going from basic HW info gathering information (CPU/RAM/GPU...) to knowing what kind of software and files you have installed on your PC.

To make it even worse they even integrated telemetry inside of their Office suites.

Most people they don't care and believe MS when they will only use this data to make windows better. They already share their entire lives on social media so this isn't much of a stretch to them.

Other's feel this is an intrusion of privacy and that MS could end up selling this data to third party(s).

At the end of the day it don't matter, the powerusers know what to tweak in order to disable most of the telemetry functions using a combination of powershell scripts, GPO's and regedits. There also quite a few third party applications that can do this aswell if you're not that tech savy.

corps can do some nasty stuff.
like get hacked such as nvidia and facebook. look up recent data breaches.
i don't trust them keeping my data safe for one.
and two- the goverment could become a dictarorship and get all your data from that- plus look up your post hsitory and do stuff to you about what you said.
this is already happening in canada and uk.
and china- thats all they do there.
also puts people in jail for the things they say on reviews, like in japan and various other places.
so no thanks.

Professional OCers still use Windows 7 and XP to achieve world records. That's saying a lot, even if it's 3% faster, for an OCer that's a lot. If that doesn't show how much the software has started to get slower and slower because of all these addons they put in then what will?
