7800x3d or wait?
so iam actually on a 9700kf with a 2080TI 16gb ddr4 3200 1tb m.2 ssd

iam thinking to build a new system with a:

Amd Ryzen 7800x3d
SAPPHIRE Radeon RX 7900 XT PULSE 20GB
32Gb Kingston FURY DIMM 32 GB DDR5-6000
ASUS Asus ROG STRIX B650E-F GAMING WIFI, Mainboard
Thermaltake TH280 280mm AIO
be quiet straight power 850w power supply

OR...

should i wait untill the 9900x comes out? with the new motherboards?
or even wait for the 9800x3d?

what would you do in my situation?
so far games i have are actually playable. could be here and there more fps sometimes.
but in games wich comes out like stalker 2 or even gta 6 iam definatly need a new system.

7800X3D is pretty sick. Nothing says higher series will be faster with your system.

isnt it that the 9xxx series need the new x870 motherboards?
or iam wrong? will a b650 motherboard fit with a 9800x3d for example?

They are supposed to have the AM5 sockets so it should work. But doesnt mean it will be faster. The highest series are not the fastest.

The higher the model type doesnt mean it makes a faster computer. Putting together all the most expensive or newest parts that you can, is not how you make the fastest computer. Some lower series parts are faster, it depends on the different components you have already and how well they work together, and existing limitation. Sometimes buying faster parts can actually dramatically slow your computer down. And you dont want to waste money. I personally would not upgrade the CPU.

so you think the 7800x3d is way enough and rdy for upcomming games

Its already much faster than those of a higher series and one of the fastest. The model numbers dont mean that much. Plus you can bottleneck blindly upgrading the CPU too much.

what u mean with bottleneck upgrading?
7800x3d
with a 20gb 7900xt
will bottleneck a lot?

in general the system i posted, would u change something? the price is around 2k here and it should stay at that + - 100-200€

I dont know if it will or not. I was just making the point that upgrading the CPU isnt always the best answer.

If I were you, I would get 128G of RAM.
s T i L L 6 AGO 2024 a las 19:54
why that? never heard that so much ram is needed for gaming alone

Thats what I have. I like RAM because its not that expensive. And its an idle part so buying more will only help. I find that most parts hold up in games, but the games that error people out is usually extremely high demanding on RAM like a full Warhammer 3 map or City Skylines 2 (as it works better). Plus really your CPU and GPU are already beyond the limits of games, your RAM kindof isnt. Plus its fun to push beyond the realms of gaming, or even development or have a work station. Its just if it was me. Half that would work too. I would get some with good heat sinks and you can upgrade to a higher speed.

already thought about 64gb ram. but thats the max i would do in my situation.
i think the pc would be a good upgrade to what i have now

7800x3d will not bottleneck a 7900xt lol wtf

And your RAM speed has to compare to your CPU and GPU speeds or else upgrading anything else would be more damaging.
