So are all Intel i5/i7/i9 13th/14th gen chips effectively defective?
Based on some of the articles I'm recently reading, there's now talk of a class action lawsuit due to the instability of the Raptor Lake chips apparently being a manufacturing defect that's gonna result in most of them failing within the next 3-4 years. I mean, we're not talking about just a few gamer users here.

Entire companies and data centers probably have those chips. And I doubt they're just gonna take it lying down or let Intel off the hook that easily. It's crazy to think they could detect this issue earlier. People's PC's weren't BSODing or having the CPUs crash just because.

- i9-13900KS
- i9-13900F
- i9-13900
- i7-13700K
- i7-13700KF
- i7-13700F
- i5-14600K
- i5-14600KF

14th Gen (Meteor Lake):

- i9-14900K
- i9-14900KF
- i9-14900KS
- i9-14900F
- i9-14900
- i7-14700K
- i7-14700KF
- i7-14700F
- i5-14800K

prove it.

Waste of time with you.

Your idea of proof is like requiring the US President to make a speech in order to prove that "Governments" overall are corrupt. We know it's true, the facts are in plain sight. We don't need Intel to make public statements as proof.
then no one has to believe anything you say, ever/

Their spokesperson more or less confirms a problem with the chips. Them however not promising to honor any RMA, do any recall, or or stopping sales, and even alluding to the damage being permanent though, does not inspire confidence in consumers or endear people to buying Intel's chips.

This is probably as much of an "admission" on Intel's part as you're going to get. If you're expecting them to outright say there's a problem, when they're being coy and playing dumb otherwise, is probably NOT going to happen, since they clearly care more about their reputation than they do actually respecting their consumers and honoring their warranties.

obv but not nearly all of them or even a majority of them have this problem.
its a small small minority until some one proves it otherwise.
and i will happily die on this hill.

No, they more or less confirm that ANY and ALL chips that are rated 65 W and up in the 13th and 14th gen lineup are affected. THAT much is confirmed. There is no "if, but, maybe etc."

I mean seriously, who the F are you to make demands. You're just a ghost on the internet.
you're the one making demands that this "fact" is actually true.

thanks.
it'll be dark day in heaven when i start taking people on the steam forum's word for important things like this.
especially when they are all basing what they are saying on a single post from nexus.
I'm not really sure anyone cares if you believe it or not, but you're denying it's an issue while also admitting it's an issue and everyone coming along is getting confused.

1% even 5% are acceptable losses that can RMA if they want.

who am i ? the topic is about whether or not its widespread not if its happening or not.

Like I said, if you're expecting Intel themselves to admit to their ♥♥♥♥♥♥, you're NOT going to get that. Asking people for the impossible isn't asking for "valid evidence". It's you refusing to accept what should be obvious by all the signs and implications, simply because people can't magically conjure evidence for you straight from the horse's mouth just to make a "believer" out of you.

seems someone has stats that are orders of magnitude above 1-5%...

then why would you believe rumors without real statistical tests and what not to back it up?

almost all of what every one of you is saying about this is head cannon.
if you don't care if i believe you i dont care, these posts aren't even really talking to you, they are simply scrutinizing your reasoning for everyone else who can think for themselves rather than rely on an appeal to authority fallacy.

again its a bad batch. it happens. if even true.

Because it's NOT rumors? There's now been obvious failures, backed up by statistical percentages, indicating that a LOT more of the chips are failing or have failed then initially believed. Since Intel apparently knew about this problem for the past 2 years, and didn't say anything now, it's no surprise that now some of that information and instability is coming to light.

Also, these articles don't get to make claims and be published without having evidence to back up their argument. Else, Intel could sue them for libel. Intel knows however that it's the truth, so they can't play dumb or demand any publications to retract their statements, because said publications have verifiable evidence and claims to their arguments. You refusing to believe what has clearly been proven time and again is your problem.

Because it's NOT rumors?
no one is infallible. there is a reason science has specific guidelines on how to handle tests.
so that it can be proven to be true.

if there is no proof then there is no truth.
