So are all Intel i5/i7/i9 13th/14th gen chips effectively defective?
Based on some of the articles I'm recently reading, there's now talk of a class action lawsuit due to the instability of the Raptor Lake chips apparently being a manufacturing defect that's gonna result in most of them failing within the next 3-4 years. I mean, we're not talking about just a few gamer users here.

Entire companies and data centers probably have those chips. And I doubt they're just gonna take it lying down or let Intel off the hook that easily. It's crazy to think they could detect this issue earlier. People's PC's weren't BSODing or having the CPUs crash just because.

- i7-13700F
- i5-14600K
- i5-14600KF

14th Gen (Meteor Lake):

- i9-14900K
- i9-14900KF

it'll be dark day in heaven when i start taking people on the steam forum's word for important things like this.
especially when they are all basing what they are saying on a single post from nexus.
If you don't want to hear what people say on the steam forums then why are you here trying to communicate with people on the steam forums? 🤪
im here to listen to their reasons for wanting to believe in a bandwagon fallacy plus appeal to authority.
does not mean i believe any word they say.

You are more than welcome to stick your head in the sand, plug your ears, and ignore the literal mountains of evidence about what Intel is doing. If that makes you happy then have fun with that.

However attempting to argue with other people on the Steam forums about it will not get you anywhere.
what sand? my head only exists for sources.
That's what you are doing: There is so much evidence about all of this being true that it's not even something worth discussing anymore. But you don't believe any of that (sticking your head in the sand) and repeatedly insist that literally every comment from every person online that has reported Intel's activity is all lying and none of it is true.

Yeah. Sure. Hundreds of different people are all wrong, lying, and none of it is true. Uh hunh ... If you think that then I have a bridge in California I'll sell you.

you realize these chips will be in big business right? and medical devices?
they would recall them if it were an issue.

Actually, they wouldn't, because they're apparently stupid enough to be willing to take the risk. Also, many businesses might still be using older chips. Especially medical devices. So they wouldn't have the problem until and if they ever get updated with them. Most non-tech based companies usually use much more dated hardware, so they wouldn't be running on the latest chips, nevermind the latest OS.
medical devices tend to stay cutting edge.
trust me go there a few times a month, they got new stuff every time.

Let's be honest. If this was a car company, they'd issue a recall because they can't afford to play dumb and coy when people's lives are on the line
actually... there's a whole field of law dedicated to going after car manufacturers for selling defective vehicles....

maybe you've watched that guy on youtube that always is like "I'm whoever and I practice lemon law"... that's what they do.

yea lemon law is famous in my state.
its extremely strict here, so much so you don't need a lawyer, just 2 dif mechanics opinions.

so yeah i'd need engineer opinions NOT forumites or journalists.

And you are an Intel fanboi that thinks you can try to "disprove" everything written about Intel and some how stop people from informing others of the shady, underhanded, (potentially criminal) activity that Intel did. You can't stop the flow of information on this matter and you won't be able to. Your repeated attempts to do this in the steam forums is not going to end well for you.

Oh, I'm not surprised. I'm sure car manufacturers would love to play dumb and coy, but these lawyers aren't going to let them easily get away with it.

nope i built plenty of amd comps for my firends they are great for saving money.

however i don't have to believe anything GN says because any vitriol they post without verifying it with multiple sources tends to be bs. and spreads FUD and thats what they live for these days.

well i've been asking for proof from steam forums users for over 20 years. 3 of them on valves own forums as Cognition.

you seem new.

so if I get 2 different computer shops to say my CPU is defective that's good enough for you?

no but they know every inch of how a vehicle works.
most of them can even fab their own cars.

so yeah i guess in a broad sense?

but really no...

so if 2 mechanics can declare a car to be a "lemon" why are your standards so high on one part of a PC?

I just don't find your argument very compelling.
