I don't think manufacturers have an issue with liquid metal since they are the ones using it. They also usually have some form of gasket to keep the liquid metal from getting into places it shouldn't.

Liquid metal failures are almost always some person who thought they knew what they were doing and end up making a mess.

In other words saying that they come with a thermal paste.

It is not just to put it there and forget it. It aways is better to be spread, but either way they make an additional possible problem causer.

Not only that. Depending on the liquid metal they are going to use then they have to choose a contact metal, which can be nickel, but increases the chance of defects and cost, or copper, which in some cases will be fine or it will require more maintenance to keep the same performance.

Could be bad pasting, but also could be improper cooling. No fan curve setup, etc...
Any serious gamer should run Liquid Cooling, whatever fits the case, 240mm or 360mm.
