Steam Deck OLED - power led flashes red light when playing Baldur’s Gate 3
Hey everyone,

I've been trying all day to find advice about my Steam Deck, and before reaching out to Steam support, I decided to post here as well.

I've had my Steam Deck for a few months now and have played a lot of games on it. However, I've noticed something strange while playing Baldur’s Gate 3. The light near the power button flashes red whether I'm playing plugged in or on battery (happened once when playing on battery). I've never experienced this with any other game, but BG3 causes this behaviour on my Steam Deck.

Has anyone else experienced this while playing Baldur’s Gate 3 or any other game? What does the red flashing light mean? Is it something that needs to be addressed, or is it normal behaviour?

Just to clarify, the game runs amazingly despite the red light flashing. It’s just bothering me because I haven’t seen it happen before.

Thanks in advance for any insights!

blinking red light from what i can find means its over heating......if its 3 times on boot then its a dead battery.....but in the middle of a game with the system still running its over heating....

Thanks for the answer. Any idea if this is something serious? I understand that the best way is to contact support, but so far I didn't have any issues with SD, only when playing BG3..
