Dead Pixel Spreading?

So weird issue. I have dealt with dead pixels before on monitors. I have an "old" monitor I am connecting back to my computer to provide dual screens. It had one very small (its a ultrawide screen) pixel that has always been dead.

Plugging it in now, the pixel is still dead, but now in what looks like a perfect circle around the dead pixel (not a ring, its not hollow) there is more?

Dead pixel has been and is still just black. About 3 or 4 pixels around it in circumfrence is now also appearing to be dead. Different is these are dark gray. At first I thought it was a smudge.

Has anyone experienced this? I know monitors can develop new dead pixels, but usually not right around the already existing pixel (assume its totally random) and definitely not multiple ( I would say about 10 pixels total to make the "crater" around the actual tiny small dead pixel.)

4080. Its not generated from the GPU, it's a physical thing with monitor.

Have you tried rubbing it out?

dead pixel should not spread, its a mfg defect in the panel

unless the panel was damaged after it was mfg or installed in the display
then it could grow if the panel is flexed

if its like a grayed or dimmer spot, it may just be dust or residue on the panel
use a damp paper towel to wipe off the panel
or it could be spider, bug or something inside the display
most are not difficult to take apart
ifixit has videos for most, just remove the back, boards, bezel, and panel, then diffuser layers (they are easy to get mixed up, use a small piece of painters tape to mark a corner and outside and keep them together)
once down the the frame and leds, you can wipe off any bugs or spiderwebs
then re-assemble

Yeah i suspect an insect got inside.

Actually seen some reviews on amazon complaining about dead pixels but on the photo you can clearly see a bug… Its common and people often assume its a dead pixel…
