Do I need to upgrade bios going from 13900KF to 13900K?

My 13900KF is on its last legs, so I RMA’d it and I am getting a 13900K as a replacement - do I need to update my BIOS or will it be fine because it’s the same CPU with integrated graphics?

but you should update bios anyway

when you swap cpu or ram, it should reset all oc back to defaults
but its best to reset bios to defaults using bios option before swapping them

Thanks for the answer, I’ve been seeing mixed messages - I’m choosing not to right now if I don’t have to because I’m hearing reports that the microcode patch is breaking some people’s motherboards, so I wanted to wait until it’s stable before installing it.

I’ll just set the ASUS multi-core enhancement to stock for now.

you need to be on the latest bios update and keep it up to date for the next year or so......this will be a on going issue and more bios updates are already in the pipe line.....when the new chip hits it will have no problem running with the current bios to update to the newest.....then you need to make sure that the new bios from your motherboard maker is in real intel limits of what the CPU should be running if you dont want to RMA the new CPU......

I can disable mulit-core enhancement for now, which is the major detrimental factor causing this, the microcode is a bonus fix on top.

All I wanted to know is if there would be compatibility issues swapping over to the same processor with integrated graphics - I am fully aware of the stability issues with this processor, hence why I RMA'd it to begin with.
