Looking for a Motherboard, with 7.1 audio jacks.
Everything i found is literally just stereo.
Why do they make crappy boards nowadays. With not even the essentials you need.

ASRock AM5 seems to support it on many. The lite version of the Tachi has higher quality sound but is limited to 5.1 because "lite" but Live Mixer looks pretty sweet if you dont want monochromatic.

most do
even the ones with 3 headphone jacks on the rear io
they can use the front mic or headphone jacks for the extra 2 channels

run the realtek audio control panel to config them as desired

all good MOBOs with realtec audio have 7.1 jacks... keep looking OP.

(tho personally I always preferred my creative titanium card, because why not? :D)

idk what else they'd even be looking for... the only way to get true 7.1 audio from a PC is with the 3 dual channel 1.8mm jacks... and most PCs can use the realtek drivers to shuffle the channels around to make it work.

if OP is doing anything else it's not true 7.1... everything else is digital compression.

If you're looking at mobos from the brand Colorful just spend a little more and get namebrand.

No actually MOST boards from ASUS, MSI and Gigabyte that might only have 3 physical audio ports on the rear can do 5.1 as you can switch that Line In and Mic In to all Line Out via the Realtek audio software (logic switching)

Most do not do 7.1 because most gamers never do those kinds of configs anyways. If you really want 7.1 get a Sound Card.

All those Realtek are nothing but junk anyways.

oh ya, guess you need 4 ports for 7.1... I just do 5.1 so am used to the 3... but most boards have a standard 6 that I've used.
-line in/mic
-front center/sub
-front right/left
-middle right/left
-rear right/left
-lineout

if your board doesn't have those 6 ports you've got a discount board... or possibly are using micro-atx and they've removed it to save space.

Well, I mean the obvious answer is because most people looking to use 7.1 sound these days would prefer to be using H.D.M.I. and the few who need to use analogue surround would be happy enough with a 5.1 setup. What about those even fewer people who must use analogue 7.1 surround? They can just buy a U.S.B. adapter[www.amazon.com].

um no?

last I checked HDMI and optical only support stereo with "digital surround"... unless they updated it to carry all 8 channels it's not true surround sound.

edit: actually IIRC they didn't even have the license to do audio over HDMI on PC until years after they tried to push it as a video adaptor XD

Apparently boards like that Z790 Sonic The Hedgehog use the front panel audio jack for 7.1
THX for all the help. Nowadays it is difficult to find a new board. As if they do it on purpose.
Dividing the necessary onboard items over multiple new boards. But they say, you can buy a external wifi. You can buy an external or internal soundboard. You can buy an external usb hub for if you need more usb.

But i found one.

Asus ROG STRIX B650E-F GAMING WIFI ATX AM5 Motherboard
