Need help with 5.1 Sound
Hello,
Sorry if its not the right forum place to ask, but havent found proper place

Struggle with 5.1 Creative inspire T6060 , an old sound device.. So the problem is kinda known to people, but no solutions to be found.
The windows plays only 2 speakers from 5 ( front ones) .

* When you test sound, the all speakers (5 pcs. ) produce sound, clear and nice
**Downloaded proper driver, Realtek HD manager, set the system to 5.1
***Realtek HD manager able to play all five speakers with "Fill speaker" but the sound speakers produce is very low quality and not acceptable
***subwoofer have 3 output/input cords ( black, green, orange ) .
*** My PC mainboard is Asrock B450M steel legend, ive put the cords where colors belongs (black is rear speakers, orange is subwoofer/center speaker, green is front speakers)
*** Playing games works all 5 speakers, but when listening to music from browsers (Firefox, IE) from Windows media player, from VLC video software, the only 2 front speakers sound.. which is kinda annoying
***Placing black (rear speaker) cord into green slot, plays rear speakers

Any ideas how to make all 5 speakers work?

Sounds rather normal. Stereo sources are usually only play on the two front sources unless you activate some upmixing feature in the driver.

There are some YouTube videos that say they have 5.1 sound. test with them. If they work right then your system is fine. Then the problem is the others only have stereo. So the upmixing will play that stereo through all the speakers. No idea how to enable it.

Just found out, that only Guild Wars 2 produce 5.1 sound. all speakers have different sounds coming but the effect is noticable.. But other games uses 2.1 ...

I had this problem all the time, granted it was with Creative drivers, and my Creative 7.1 speakers, but only the front 2 speakers (mid center produced no sound) when watching youtube or music, and like you, gaming and movies, all speakers magically worked as well as when it was tested.

Not sure if this will fix it for you, but, my issue came from my graphics card driver. I use AMD, and for some dumb reason, it always installs a HD Audio Driver when I wish it didnt. That audio driver would then override my sound driver from Creative, and my sound was like yours.

If you have AMD, I would suggest going to Device Manager and uninstall that HD Audio driver, then restart. It will reinstall, and you have to go to sound settings and disable it as well. If you have Nvidia, that I am not sure of. Hope this kinda helps.
