For Pinoy users: Globe Prepaid Wifi problem.
So I figured to buy a Globe at Home Prepaid Wi-Fi box the other day to try it out and the following problems ensued specifically:

- I cannot log in to my steam app thru desktop as it keeps getting me a connection error: unable to connect to the Steam network

I have already tried some solutions I looked up regarding this issue like setting the Ipv4 DNS addresses and resetting my globe prepaid Wi-Fi to default settings and it still popped up the same issue. Does anyone have the same experience as this? I appreciate any suggestion to fix this issue

Have you tried using a vpn to another point in your country and seeing if that works?
Read the manual for proper setting of the device . Usually routers use DHCP for Wi-Fi connect ed devices .
Post update: Solved my own problem now since this POS decided that it wants to connect to steam now.
Hi! I'm having the same problem for the last few weeks now. Any idea on how you fixed it? It seems like Globe is the problem here since if I connect my laptop and login to steam it pushes through -_-

So uh here's what I did to make it work and connect to Steam anyway, dunno if it will work on yours tho.

What I did was I went to the Globe at Home Dashboard on browser the 192.168.254.254 url and I went ahead and logged in. Navigated to the System Settings and on the Reboot box button, but before I did that I went to my wifi icon on Windows and right clicked the Globe at Home Wifi and then chose Forget button. After that, reconnect back to the wifi and put in the SSID password. Next is I went back on the dashboard browser and hit the Reboot button. It managed to solve my problem for connections to Steam after that. Hope this helps you out.
I have the same problem with globe home broadband wifi modem. This is an old thread but I'm here to give anyone a solution for this since this is an ISP problem and the only fix for this is no other but RESTARTING your modem over serveral times until you get the steam connection. If it got lost connection again then you have to do the same process again until it got the steam connection. For the current steam client you will notice that the mobile authenticator bar code will be visible at login page. If you refresh it and became visible then it means you got steam connection so you can login. Whenever you are logged in but no connection the indicator that you got the steam connection is that in the bottom you will see a "Manage Downloads" word appear and your username above will be highlighted as with green color.

This is what I have been doing for this stupid modem for the last 2 years and there is no other fix but only this.
Just want to share the way I solved this issue based on my experience. What I did was log into the router (http://192.168.254.254/), go to the system settings, and disable the firewall. Then, I rebooted the router. While the router was rebooting, I signed out of Steam as well. Once I reconnected to Wi-Fi, I logged back into Steam. Hope this helps
