It's not so much being able to run it, it's more the quality of life. With this hardware, you can expect higher freq.. of issues like lagging, low frames, freezing and other issues.

If you search (using like: VR on low spec hardware or something), there are some videos on this topic. Some even show you how without a graphics card.

If you're going to invest in VR, you'll need to invest in more than just the headset.

money is my problem you know not everyone got a job sadly..
Then maybe you should think about your priorities as gaming in VR is a rather expensive luxury.
i say "no", too..just to mention.

Sure. Which means you have to be thrifty and all that. And buying a $300 VR headset for a PC that would have been pretty entry level six years ago maybe isn't the way to go.

VR will be more impressive down the road, kinda seems like your situation would encourage you to wait.
Yea pretty much all i3 prior to 8th Gen ones are terrible at best.

Yes, that's understandable. But, it would be a real shame if, after all this, you spend your hard-won money on a decent VR kit and it runs horribly or not at all.

Either go big or go home.

Anything below an i7 prior to 8th gen is pretty bad in comparison to what's available with the latest generation because of the lack of HyperThreading. Though even an i3-8100 is barely acceptable because it's on pretty much the same level as older i5s with the same thread count.

nah don't worry i ordered the gtx 1050ti instead of the vr :)
my current gpu is gt 610 but my new gtx 1050ti should be arriving this month :D
A GTX 1050 Ti will be a substantial uplift relative to a GT 610 (for comparison, I had experience with a GT 610, a GT 430, and a GT 1030 (not in the same PC), and the GT 430, let alone the GT 1030, was substantially better than the GT 610, and the GT 1030 isn't a comparison for the GTX 1050 Ti. So you're looking at quite an uplift, even if the GTX 1050 Ti isn't winning many awards these days.

Two of the games you mentioned though, Minecraft and Garry's Mod (not too familiar with this one, but I know it's not visually demanding) probably won't see large gains from this as they aren't often too reliant on the GPU for performance. Your RAM especially but maybe even the CPU is below/borderline respectively for what I'd recommend for current Minecraft versions. 4 GB RAM is arguably cutting it short for current 64-bit Windows as it is, but an infamous RAM hungry JVM environment on top of that really is. I would have considered more RAM as well.
You need a entire newer/modern PC build if you going to do PC-VR
You can 'run' PCVR; but it would be extremely unpleasant not to mention unstable with that hardware.

As another post said; you would be better served with the onboard hardware.
I'm not sure it would even run. 4GB RAM isn't enough to do anything worth-while under Win10 64bit. Heck your OS alone needs 3-4GB by itself. And you basically must have a Quad Core or better.

win10-11 are not nearly as light as xp/7
you need 8g just for win10 to run smooth, and a ssd for it to be responsive
