1x 32gb or 2x 32gb

I just got my new pc today (prebuilt), and asked for 32GB DDR5 instead of 64GB DDR5, since I do not really ned 64GB of RAM. The seller however put 1x 32GB instead of 2x 16GB. I read that 1x 32GB is less effective than 2x 16GB
Should I go back to the seller and ask for the +32GB or just leave it like this? (That +32GB would cost me around +80 dolllars)

Always do a matching combo of 2 or 4, never 1 or 3. So you can have all RAM running in Dual Channel Mode

If you want 32GB total then buy a 2x 16GB kit. If you want 64GB buy a 2x 32GB kit.

Frankly unless you do specific work that needs large amount of ram 32 gigs will be enough till your new comp is outdated
2X16 or 1X32.... you would need special tools to see the difference

Edit:

Dual-rank is slightly faster performance-wise ( "up to" 4%), which is insignificant but also loads the memory controller more.

Not really since Dual Channel has noticeable impact on gaming performance. But yes 2x 16GB should do fine

So is it worth upgrading to 2x 32GB though? I know it won't get me better fps than 2x16GB, but will I get better fps since it would be 2 sticks now?
Does that +32GB DDR5 worth the 80 dollars?

Do you run: Heavy Simulators, AutoCad, Blender, InDesign (professional) & have specific needs for more Ram ? Otherwise, most games today can load in entirety (functional part) to Ram (4-16gb) with a 32gb setup.
With that said, Ram performance, look for lower CAS/CL time rather than that extra 1000mt/s. Stick with CPU mt/s limitations when it comes to XMP, not motherboard, the +1% in performance is not worth the instability it brings. (Gain-Mhz/10 = percent of performance gain).

No, none of them. Should I waste my time though to get 2x16GB and sell the 1x 32GB?

Oh yeah, one more thing I didn't mention, got an i9 12900KF + RX 7800XT build, would use it for 1080p 144Hz, however planning to upgrade to 1440p 240Hz

What you got there is enough for 4K@144hz & beyond.
Keep the 1x32gb if it's not a junk brand or high CAS/CL. Run the XMP the CPU specifies max. though.

I suppose it's good. I watched some comparisons and sometimes 1x 32GB even performs better, idk how lol. Now I can go to sleep calmly :D

Overall, since you have the RAM in-hand give it all a try and see how everything runs for you. You could always resell the RAM and get 2x 16 or 2x 32 later on if needed.

I'm on older pc still strong I feel and 32GB is enough for most people My i9 10900k 10c20t 20 cache10c @5.1 32GBDDR4 PC 3000 3090RTX 2x 1TB 970 M.2 EVO PLUS Samsung 1000watt and I'm into gaming and never see setup up past 11-16 GB rest on videocard I have 4x8 just saying and while zi game I encoded and download big files
