Right, and does it downscale properly to 1080p or 1440p for demanding games or competitive games?
It downscales just fine for games (often set it to 1440p) and quite frankly I can't tell the diff between that and 4K in what I play most often (Snowrunner, Metro, Zomboid etc) . Maybe the monitor upscales the input?
For desktop work I have it scaled to 175%.
BTW it's a Dell 27" U2723QE - very pretty but only 60Hz so not suitable for games that need high FPS. I chose it for photo viewing/editing primarily, and I'm happy with 60FPS in games.
I have enough trouble with my 17 inch Laptop.
4K below 32-34 or above inches doesn't make any sense at all really.
The whole reason I got a 28 inch 4K Monitor was because I was using 27 inch Monitor already for Gaming and needed something as an accessory display screen. Having a 4K screen of around that size for that purpose was suitable. 4K Gaming however on screens that small is just kind pointless when you don't notice much if any visual losses with 1440p, might having much higher FPS averages. Plus not having high refresh rate is really a big deal as well.
For gaming maybe - but for photo work DPI is more important I reckon. You can zoom in on areas of the pic to examine small detail, see if it is in sharp focus. My small gen 6 Surface Pro at 2736 x 1824 probably has a higher DPI than my 27" monitor. The 27" screen is better to see the 'big picture' though.
