VGA Red Light on Mobo

Just upgrade my computer to the 7800x3D. The computer is running totally fine, and I’m able to play games and do other stuff. I just noticed the VGA red light is on. I think my last board did this sometimes, but I never bothered since everything was working. Why does it still keep the light on?

While writing this post I updated my GPU driver and the light is gone. Weird.

Try re-seating the gpu. That's one of the causes.

This happens when you post before your display initializes. Try turning your display on first, then turn on the pc. Or at least have the display in standby mode, basically ready to wake without any input from you.

If you turn the pc on first, then display after, that's when the red light is triggered. Unfortunately it won't go out though. You'll have to restart for it to go out. Just make sure the display is ready to wake or is on.

Yeah, this happened with my b550 board as well. Something to do with that sequence. Either way it doesn’t sound alarming. Everything is running just fine.

This happens on a media PC of mine. It is connected to a TV and sometimes I forget to turn the TV on first. The PC powers up, switches a LED on because it can't find a display, but then stupidly doesn't turn it off again even when the display powers up.
