What game for 144 Hz?
I have never seen any difference between 60 Hz or 144Hz in a game. But I play things like Borderlands 2. What free game or demo can I install that does need that increased FPS?

How can you not see a difference? Do you even know what to look for?

Try this website. That should help you understand.

It shows comparisons and also tests and confirms if you are actually running 144hz.

I suspect ignorance and genetics. Apparantly some brains and eyes have trouble interpolating high fps. Where as others can percieve high fps.

But not being able to see the motion blur reduction, Thats just plain ignorance. Its easy to see when you know what to look for.

if you're still running 60 fps on 1444hz you won't see much of a difference. You need to be running 144fps @144hz to see the difference
Not entirely true. If you use a proper and modern display with Adaptive sync, FreeSync Premium, GSync and a 1ms Panel that is capable of HDR10 and RGB 100%+ it can make quite a difference. Much of that difference has to do with image ghosting and screen tearing. But you have to configure the GPU, Display and Games properly
Yes, my PC can do 144 on max settings for a game like Borderlands 2. Yes, it was running at that speed. Steam and the monitor verified that. I think I have the advanced Freesync turned on for that game. I still see no difference in the game. Yes, I can see that desktop difference moving windows around. But if the game does not feel different then so what? 60 is "good enough"

I still need a game where I should see a big difference like people claim. A free one or demo.

Your FPS does not have to match the refresh rate, that's pure incorrect non-sense. You want the ability to have Adaptive Sync and to have your max refresh rate be above whatever the FPS is ever going to be.
You do not need a game for that.
Instead record a video of your mouse-cursor travel at 144 frames-per-second. Record the video at 144 frames-per-second (or more).
If you slow-down the video, you can count the frames at which your cursor travels in slow-motion.

You might test it by using the same method for games, if you cannot see the difference. Simply record them at 144 frames-per-second or more. Then slow-down the video, to test if you actually have that frame-rate.

Even 60 to 90 looks like a massive difference to me.

It is noticeable, but think of it like this. If your game runs say 90 fps for the first mission, then on the next it drops to 60 fps / fluctuates a lot. Instead of teasing yourself with high fps briefly, why not just lock it at the most consistent framerate?
I am not sure if Steam can record at more than 60 frames-per-second.

You may not want to be using Steam for it. You should probably not be using Steam at all.

i still don't know how people can't see a difference between 60 and 144hz / fps

i can start to understand that statement at like 165hz and 240hz+

but if you can seriously not tell a difference, you might want to go and see if there is something wrong with your eyes. like really, that isn't a hackhanded joke or anything.. .

you dont need a game. move your cursor around on your screen and stare at it. then switch your monitor hz to the other option and stare at it again while moving it. repeat until you see it.

I don't see a problem (no pun intended). Just be glad you can't make use of 144hz and put that power into an increase in resolution. People who notice have to choose between the fps OR the resolution. Trying to have both doesn't always work out. Not sure if this is where you tell me you can't tell the difference between 1440p and 4k.
