Can't get DSR to work in game with display mirroring with 4070
Setup:
RTX 4070
1 x 2560x1440 @144 hz monitor
1 x 3840x2160 @ 120 Hz TV
1 x 3840x2160 @60 Hz monitor

What I am trying to accomplish: use DSR on my 1440p monitor so that it is essentially a 4K monitor, and mirror that 4K gameplay to a separate 4K TV so that I can record gameplay in 4K and play on my TV at the same time.

The problem: When I use DSR in mirror mode, I can only select 1440p in the graphics options of all games, although my desktop resolution is apparently set to 4K.

What I have tried: Turning off monitor mirroring and using DSR in games works, it shows 4K resolution options in game on my 1440p monitor, but as soon as I turn on mirroring, it stops showing 4K in the menus.

I'd greatly appreciate any help or solutions for this problem.

If you are just trying to record gameplay then rather than doing display mirroring, which afaik you can’t do DSR or DLDSR with a mirrored display, you can just set the TV as a secondary monitor; then use OBS with its capture preview on the TV display and capture your regular monitor with it using DSR.

There will likely be some pretty bad input delay depending on your computer and the encoding performance / your disk performance.

I think I get what you're saying, and it's actually a great idea that I'll probably try.

Would an HDMI 2.1 splitter give me the same result using DSR?

Just make your tv (or whatever display) the only single display while OBS records, After you're done playing go back to normal display setup?.

Yes it should. Sometimes that may cause issues with HDCP but if you get a cheap one to test it out you’ll know quickly if it causes HDCP issues as it won’t negotiate the connection to the display. You can get some cheap ones for under $30 that will likely work for you.

That 1440p monitor is still 1440p if I'm not mistaken which is the bottom line. So it seems the me the logic wouldn't work out where you're "mirroring" something because you can't really mirror two things that aren't identical. So one monitor at 1440p could only be mirrored to the same exact thing?.

But at two different displays being different resolutions, there would be two totally separate DSR processes going on between two different displays? the 1440p one and the 4k one?

That's how it seems to me anyways.

It is an option, but its a bit less streamlined and a bit more of a hassle than I would have liked

If you really kind of see your 1440p monitor as "being 4k like" then maybe you can just record that instead of an actual 4k display? See how it comes out.
