Router blocking steam access
I’ve been having this issue for a couple of days and narrowed it down to my router/modem, my steam won’t load the store, the points store, my profile or my friends. I always get error -118 but I can't find what it is, steam server status is fine and most posts about this error are about 10 yrs old. Same with the steam forums even through a external browser, I tried the mobile steam app and noticed it wouldn’t load either, but when I switched to mobile data it did load perfectly fine, so it’s not my pc, I’m guessing my problem is with my ISP or router, don’t really know what to do at this point, I tried accessing my router config with the Ip but don’t know how to deal with this issue trough there.
I would really appreciate any tips or feedback on what I could do to fix this

SOLVED
After trying everything, I ended up contacting my ISP, they told me that my router (Deco from TP link) was not in the right operating mode, changing from router mode to access point mode in the Deco app fixed it immediately, hopefully this can help someone in the future if they ever encounter this issue

go for the simple fix.... try reboot the router and modem....just unplug them for 10 seconds and plug both back in.....

or reset the router and modem to defaults, and setup the wifi ssid/pass and login settings again
you could try to let it through the windows firewall. you can also try to restart steam.
Check the Ethernet cable especially if you recently changed it. The most plausible solution is to follow the advice above and reset the router.

It's surprising how frequently this step is overlooked.

Explanation:

Most consumer grade routers have their own DNS cache to speed up DNS lookups, but if the device is operating 24/7, the cache can become 'stale' due to memory leaks or resource exhaustion.

You generally won't notice that there is even a problem until one website you frequently access changes its nameservers (an uncommon event). That website will then become inaccessible until you power cycle your router.
