When i ask about INTEL BASE PROFILE. So dont use it?
just update bios, it fixes problems you are having
it lowers the oc the board was applying since it was not stable cpus similar to yours
This is my board:
https://www.gigabyte.pl/products/page/mb/Z790-AORUS-ELITE-X-WIFI7-10/support#support-dl
My board is rev 1.0
https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/Z790-AORUS-ELITE-X-WIFI7/support#support-dl-bios
in description, it links to
https://www.gigabyte.com/Press/News/2156
I strongly recommend this guide:"
https://wccftech.com/asus-intel-baseline-profile-option-bios-mitigate-14th-13th-gen-cpu-gaming-stability-issues/
This has solved my problems with Unreal Engine games!
BUT:
14900KS SP111 / Asus Z790 Apex (white) / Bios 2002
CB23: 41.628 points
CB23: 31.462 points (according to Intel defaults)
10.000 points performance loss!
But one option brought the performance back:
I have now only set the bios feature "IA CEP" to disabled and all other settings as in the guide
and thus reach 41,297 points!
Here are more informations about this "IA CEP" feature:
https://rog-forum.asus.com/t5/technologies-explained/rog-unveils-beta-bios-for-14th-gen-non-k-processors-to-enhance/ba-p/996643
I would first recommend these settings as in the guide if it runs stable then you can deactivate IA CEP.
Games like Horizon Dawn run with this guide according to Intel specifications just as fast as before "unlocked".
Edit:
I have to select "Intel's Fail Safe" instead of AUTO for SVID Behavior in the bios,
RoboCop: Rogue City will also run! (with AUTO game crashes)."
So what now? Update bios first and what then ? Update bios enable INTEL BASE line profile, and then disable CEP ? I have Gigabyte A790 Aorus Elite X Wifi7, board
Most people here are already familiar with him. A look on his comment history tells you more than I ever could.
He does that all the time. As soon as a new CPU gen or GPU gen gets released, you'll find @das3erawsdas on the Steam sub, with his ridiculous questions and his total inability to understand how PC-hardware works.
Most of the users here have him on ignore, so I suggest to move on and just ignore him. It's always the same with him. 2080 and i9 7900, 3090 and i9 13900k, i9 14900k and 4090, and so on. he doesn't even own the hardware and uses screenshots from other users on hardware boards.
edit: He even uses the same issue over multiple years......WOW
I remember they used to make a lot of posts about every little issue they ever had. And almost every time, it would either be a one off or something small, and the community would (rightfully) tell them not to make a big deal out of it until it shows itself to be a bigger issue or a consistent issue.
I remember one of these issues was a message about running out of VRAM. OP had just gotten the 13900K or 14900K and had an RTX 4090. And here we are, months and months and months later and the issue is discovered to have been unstable/degrading CPUs.
Anyway, as has been said, update your BIOS and use the Intel defined limits, It doesn't matter if you lose performance because the higher performance you had before was known to come from it operating in a way that made it unstable or degrade over time. You don't have a choice unless you want to run it in an unstable state or risk degrading it.
If you still have issues, try underclocking. Lower the p-core ratio in steps of 1 until you get down to 52 or 51 and see if it ever stabilizes. If it does, your CPU has degraded and is no longer stable at stock and it's time to try and RMA it.
That's your solution.
Intel chips run hot and it's because they're overclocked and not built to run at their default clock speeds
Amd chips too, sometimes.
Except they have.
Intel confirmed these settings were in spec and hardware unboxed and others have already called intel out on this.
if the board can deliver power needed, and the cpu has good cooling it should not change performance at all
