RTX 4090 melting
Recently i am looking forward rtx 4090 but i heard that there is a problem with 12vhpwr connector. Is it still issue when i have psu alongside with cable 12vhpwr? Should i be worry about it?

No. The issue is with the Nvidia adapter. It would put high pressure on a connector and somehow disconnected some pin. I recommend check with your PSU manufacturer for 12VHPWR cable.

Also, it would be helpful if you could let us know your PSU maker and model.

yes this has not been fixed and will remain a issue on the 4090's and might be also on the 5000 series since the newer cables still show failure rates it is a design problem and while they put it on users for a long time it ain't user error it is nvidia that screwed up

there is a chance your 4090 will be fine but since the amount of dead 4090's are only increasing in repair stores due to melting the connector it literally is just gambling at this point and if you let your pc on while going for instance to a store you might come home with a fire in the house this is offcourse worst case

and if some come but my 4090 is totally fine even people that had their 4090 for a year suddenly had the connector melt

and why did this glorious connector need to exist wel because of looks we cant have 3-4 pci cables hanging of the card now can we imagine how ugly that looks the only thing i could agree on is the sense pin but that is it

It was fixed. Just don't use the Nvidia 12vhpwr adapter as I point out. It come with GPU, and it belong to the Nvidia manufacturer not GPU manufacturers

It was fixed. Just don't use the OEM 12vhpwr adapter as I point out.

the fix of 12pwr 2x6 while it improved a lot can still melt heard about someone that had it however his cable melted both ways from the videocard side and psu side so it still not as reliable as the old pci connector

PSU manufacturers' 12vhpwr cables are more reliable than you think. I have a Seasonic VERTEX GX-1000 with a 12vhpwr port and no issue ever since.

This is the reason why I didn't upgrade to the 4090, I refuse to use those cheap adapters.

I have MSI MAG A1000G 1kW alongside with 12vhpwr cable. So it should be fine with the cable right?

You mean your PSU has a 12vhpwr port?

Yup, and the cable too from MSI

Check out the northridgefix youtube channel, only 1 month ago was his last clip on replacing a melted connector, and he still mentions that he is doing it daily.

It should work with no issue. I think you meant MSI MAG A1000GL.

wel my opinion stays with it is a gamble one that i wouldn't be able to constantly replace nor want to spent my time replacing ill patiently wait for reports to clear out the 5000 or 6000 series nvidia before thinking of purchasing their high end cards again

better safe then sorry

Just don't buy one, they're fire hazard no matter what nvidia and all their stans say

im mixed,
only buy one if you need it
if you buy one, use the correct cable from the psu, not any adapters

They had some new revisions of the power connector and possibly the adapter too, but I take them with a grain of salt.
