Steam stopped recognizing my pro-controller correctly.
So I restarted my computer, and all of a sudden, Steam decided that my Switch Pro Controller is now a generic one.

This would all be fine and whatever, but....

I am currently playing through a game atm that HAS Nintendo Switch Controller support, which means that I no longer experience the proper button prompts.

This is an extremely petty complaint, but I'm honestly annoyed. Does anyone know how to fix it so steam starts recognizing my Switch Controller as a Switch Controller again.

Fire all the Steam devs and replace them with your own that actually understands the needs of a PC user. LOL not going to happen there! Today's people want phones and tablets and that's pretty much where the mindset is at. We are a dying breed wanting these 'controller' thingys that are heavy to carry.

I mean who the hell would want a brick sized controller when you can carry your phone with you AND emulate games on the go? We all know that's the superior way! We are all backwards unwashed heathens. /Sarcasm.

just learn how steam maps the controls for each profile

desktop = desktop and games outside of steam
bpm = big picture mode
chord = temp profile override, active only while xbox/ps/home button is held
and each game can have its own profile

each of those can be configured independently for each controller
so, name each controller so its easily identifiable

I'm unsure why you're so mad about... somebody wanting to use a controller for some PC games? I play a lot of fighting games and generally prefer pad. The current game I am playing also just doesn't have a keyboard/mouse setup I found comfortable /shrug.

I will look into this. Thank you.
