Breaking in a new mouse is frustrating
You really don't know what you have until it's gone. The left button of my beloved mouse broke off after years of dedicated service. It's wired and old, I figured I'd upgrade to the best of the best now that i have more money. Its replacement, touted as what the pros use, is nice but after a few days I'm sending it back. Too many flaws and I can't get used to it.

Plus it has a few deal breakers, one of which is that there's no grip. Its body is completely smooth so I never feel I have full control of it. It's lightweight, TOO lightweight, it feels like I'm barely moving anything at all. The biggest deal breaker though is that I can't change the DPI on the fly. The button to do that is on the bottom and it's not instant when switching, and more times than not I skip over my desired DPI so I'm stuck in a torturous loop until I get it right.

This thing cost $100. I bought back my old mouse for $40 which is what I should have in the first place.

Protip: if you find a mouse you really like buy another pair immediately as backup.

I can't use normal gaming mouse anymore due to wrist related pain; and the only vertical mouse that fits my hand perfectly is the Logitech MX vertical so i immediately bought 2 extra in case production runs out.

.. which mouse?

The mouse I can't get used to is Logitech G PRO Wireless Gaming Mouse. I play CS2 religiously and apparently this is what the pros use in competitions.

I got my old mouse which is CORSAIR HARPOON WIRELESS RGB Gaming Mouse. My original was wired, this one is wireless, I hope nothing else is different besides that.

Great advice for things we rely on. This was a wake up call.
My mouse used to have grips but went smooth. You can add your own grips, but that seems like too much work and looks a mess. I like Logitech mice but not the new ones because they lack 6 buttons - many mice lack buttons drives me crazy.

$100 for a mouse (or keyboard) is a joke because they all wear out some day.

Corporate greed is real.

I had bought some 1mm and 2mm self-adhesive foam padding on Amazon for pretty cheap.

This could remedy your grip issue or even to properly spray/paint on some PlastiDip.

I seen some people PlastiDip skull art to their mice and controllers, pretty damn cool.

PlastiDip is basically rubberized paint but it doesn't get removed like paint or wear out.

Generally a rubber coating...

Could learn to solder. My old keyboard had a few switches fail so I boght a new keyboard and kept the faulty one for spares so I can replace switches, the battery and anything else. My mouse has just started double clicking and losing hold status so I purchased 2 new switches for £6 inc delivery. Borrowing the tools I'd need from someone my brother knows

Wow thats crazy. I have logitech g pro and its the best mouse i have ever owned. So good i bought 5 more backups. And i came from an overpriced corsair. Dont remember exactly which one, m65 elite something and it was trash in comparison.

It's as if people have different hands sizes or something..

5 more back ups .... !? Do they break so easily ?

Well i gave two to relatives, but yeah, most mice last 1-2 years for me, no matter how expensive. Same with these logitech g pros. Actually had one fail in 11 months (the usual double click problem)

I've used Logitech M510 for years and what gives first are the skates after a couple of years. The rubberized sides are solid they never give and stay grippy till the end. pretty happy with those.
5 backups? Dang..

I've had the same mouse for like, five years and I am just now lightly considering replacing it...solely to get a new mouse with even more insane dpi so I can play fps games as i get older. Also I won't have to use so much of the mousepad, or hurt my wrist
The double-clicking is just from the manufacturer being cheap and using the bulk china switches

I also have a G Pro that has a failed switch, was going to replace the switch and saw a Razer DA mini for $20 when it was on sale, perfect for claw / finger grip styles. Any optical switch mouse would be leaps and bounds better, I was checking out Roccat's Burst Pro on sale for $25, uses their "titan" optical switch - killer deal for razer-haters...

edit - just ordered that roccat, realized I gave away my spare (a Corsair Harpoon)...
