Just turn off TPM + SecureBoot.
Not a problem. Plus BitLocker could be disabled if that did already happen. But yes I don't recommend people enable that by any means for a gaming PC. It will cut ssd performance in half.

I know you can turn it off but it encrypts all devices when updating to 24H2 and if it happens with 24H2 I wouldn't be surprised if it happens with newer ones. Therefore, you will be forced to disable it every time there is a big update and there are interesting questions like if I have an external drive, will it encrypt it, because if it does, then the situation will become problematic in not a small number of cases. The bad performance is not only for gaming but also for any program that works with large files as it can be with video processing, but it will not be surprising how much worse hard drives and SATA SSDs will be.
They way I read that article it enabled Bitlocker with new installs or re-installs, but not with a regular update. Or am I rwong?

"Regardless, any Windows 11 version that has BitLocker functionality will now automatically have that activated/reactivated during reinstallations starting with 24H2. This behavior applies to clean installs of Windows 11 24H2 and system upgrades to version 24H2. Systems that upgrade to Windows 11 24H2 automatically have the Device Encryption flag turned on, but it only takes effect (for some reason) once Windows 11 24H2 is reinstalled on the machine. "
Yes, turned on but not activated by an update.

Which I see as a logical flaw that they will probably fix in the next big update or however they plan it.
I know they are trying to protect us but one day we'll spend most the computers speed on defence, How will we be able to play games?

I'd be tempted to setup an offline computer and buy games that don't need something like a steam GUI.

I don't see what's wrong with this. Encryption being on by default is not a bad thing. This is a good choice on Microsoft's part for the ones that think the computers are magical black boxes that can do anything.
