I have had one of their oleds for over a year now and no sign of any burn-in, or dead pixels. It doesn't matter though, because it has a three year guarantee.
I have an oled monitor sat next to a very expensive ips monitor, both are 144Hz, yet the oled is noticeably smoother. The picture quality, well, the main two differences are contrast and reds. The reds are true reds. Although the ips is quite good, nothing compares to the oled.
dead pixel is pretty much not going to be a problem
burn in will be
the panel will get about a year of use (on time) before you see screen burn
to help prevent and make it last longer before you can see screen burn
1. turn it off when not in use
2. avoid static images, desktop icons, taskbar, clock etc..
the display displays burn prevention can help, but mostly only burns a ghost around the pixels that would burn, or burns reverse image so the entire screen is burned evenly
some overdrive burned sub pixels, which would burn them faster but look even until they reach their max brightness
if you wan to buy a new display in a few years go ahead
lcd panels will last 10+ years without burn, even if left on 24/7
I only notice it if I am looking at stuff like youtube comments
Any constantly moving games or other things haven't done any burn in, even with UIs that are static
But, at the end of my current monitors life, I'll be going to a Samsung (I think it's a samsung), a 39" ultrawide 21:9 @ 1440p 240Hz, when the price of it goes down from $1499 to maybe $800.
I love my oled monitor. It's so much easier on my eyes, and the colors are richer
Just remember to do a pixel refresh after about 4 hours of continuous use
And after, I think the first 1,000 hours, it will need to refresh for an hour.
Oled doesn't have much of a problem with burn in now. Many cell phone screens are oled, and the one I have is four years old and there is no burn in.
It's probably the future of monitors and tv's. Especially the quantum dot oled's
The only problem is that they run extremely hot compared to other types of monitors
I am running a completely black desktop to extend the life of my monitor, and I usually don't run HDR and set the brightness at 0% if I am just watching videos on it
you can also do that on any other monitor, oled isn't special for it
