The answer is in your question :)
mate desktop says hi
There are advanced Linux Distributions, and newbie-friendly Distribs... all mentioned Linux Distros below are STABLE, non-bloated, highly supported and recommended!

For newcomers I recommend LINUX MINT Debian Edition (2.):

  1. Debian[www.debian.org]

  2. Mint Debian[linuxmint.com]

  3. Arch Linux[archlinux.org]
Helpful: Arch compared to other distributions[wiki.archlinux.org]

Switch or stay on Windows 10/11, and move instantly over to Windows 12 next year.

If you want to try Linux, try mentioned LMDE. Linux Mint usually have more drivers installed than these other barebones. Stay away from Ubuntu. It is way more bloated and especially EXTREMELY unstable than Windows is.

Additionally Ubuntu's future has ever been unreliable and may stop being developed in an instant.. while Debian will be never going to be vanished ...

I would go for regular Linux Mint. It's good.
Regular Linux Mint is built upon Ubuntu.

I highly recommend Linux Mint DEBIAN Edition in this case ..

https://linuxmint.com/download_lmde.php

What is LMDE?

LMDE is a Linux Mint project which stands for "Linux Mint Debian Edition".

Its goal is to ensure Linux Mint can continue to deliver the same user experience if Ubuntu was ever to disappear. It allows us to assess how much we depend on Ubuntu and how much work would be involved in such an event. LMDE is also one of our development targets, as such it guarantees the software we develop is compatible outside of Ubuntu.

I know what LMDE is. I'd still recommend the regular release over it for now. Still needs some time in the oven from my own experience with it. It's not on par yet feature-wise with the regular release. Give it 2 more years and I'll probably recommend it.

So, yeah, unless you got a hate-boner for Ubuntu. Just go with the regular release.

i just want a ubuntu based distro...

There's Kubuntu[kubuntu.org], which is just Ubuntu with KDE Plasma instead of Gnome. Plasma is the best Linux desktop environment IMO.
