if you are worried about anything messing up, simply make a restore point and revert if anything happens to go wrong, i do this almost every time i am installing new things, or multiple things.
compatibility settings are in the right click context menu when right clicking on a programs exe, under properties, compatibility, bunch of settings you can disable/enable.
you can install all used runtimes and update them, your pc should be fine.
.net and desktop runtime are fine to install, i have the old .net and up to desktop runtime 6 so far, havent had a game need higher yet.
simply installing your directx 11 again (latest version for win 7) will confirm its installed and likely working, it should tell you that you have the latest.
onedrive is a crappy cloud based program microsoft likes putting in as bloatware, dont think it came with win 7, though i mentioned it as some like to use it, until they start getting the issues it suffers (guessing you dont have it).
i assuming that graphics driver version you mentioned, is latest out for win 7 and your graphics card?
in any case, like you said, its likely webview 2 and im not sure exactly what to do with that, to get it working for ya... unless the dev decides to do something about it before you find a fix.
Maybe I try it on game exe.
Im surely have the latest DX11, I remember that I downloaded it and installed.
I doubt the Runtimes is the issue, rather this bloody Webview2.
Yes my GPU is RX 580 and last legacy driver is Adrenalin 22.6.1
The Dev was kind and offered he rework the game with this old SDK, but I said him to dont do that for only 1 player. I dont want his work drawback because Im using Win7. Also he likely face with technical issues on old SDK.
ya, your best bet is to look into that webview 2 and see what can be done to fix it for win 7, but not searching with the game as part of your search, just webview 2 and win 7.
ya, i guess you could try the game with compatibility settings, that may possibly do something.
in any case, ill look around and see what i might find.
np, im always willing to help.
"There is no longer a version of .NET that's supported on Windows 7 and Windows 8.1. The last supported releases was .NET 6 and support ended on November 12, 2024."
My .NET Framework version is 4.8(.03761)
My Desktop Runtimes are 6.0.33 and 8.0.15
What this mean? What is the difference between Framework and Runtime?
Also I have the latest Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable the 2015-2022 ver14.42.34438.0
framework is the older version of .net, desktop runtime is the newer versions of .net, both are required due to age of games and/or games requiring newer, .net's.
yep, .net framework 4.8.1 or .2? (cant remember) is last for win 7, then i guess up to desktop runtime 6 for win 7?
is that the only runtime you have (2015-2022)? should be around 20 something (ranging from 2005 n up, with the last being a combined 2015-2022, if you have installed them all, or used an "aio runtime installer" (all in one).
that said, i dont use game runtimes, i have all mine installed and updated, along with a majority of other needed stuff, so game installs basically skip installation and go straight into playing the game.
I checked my .NET version in cmd followed a guide by command. here is the result:

And here is my pics I linked before about what Visual C++ Redistributable I have. There is many.

Where I can find these AIO Runtime/Redistributable? Is it safe to use, I mean it cant screw up my OS?
you dont have to do the missing runtimes, unless you want to.
if you want, you can just grab any missing from the microsoft catalog, or try an aio (by googling "aio runtime installer").
the one i used last, was from majorgeeks (choose w/e site you want, i went with one i know and havent had issues with, but do w/e you think is safe) and i think it did the combined runtime as well, before these newer ones, you had to use the aio and get the combined one from microsoft.
what i did was, run the aio (used to do them separately before aio's were common), allow it to uninstall all runtimes, then it reinstalled all currently used runtimes (20 something of them) (barring the difference between times of doing this, with the combined runtime), then ran windows update to check for runtime updates and if there were updates for the runtimes, i ran it several times, to make sure nothing new popped up.
or instead, figure out the webview 2 thing, assuming you arent trying out the runtimes just to be sure?
in any case, i have installed many of these and cant off the top of my head, remember an instance where one went wrong, but then again, i have OS backups, restore points, ect.. to always be safe.
Yeah I try to focus on Webview2.
It just interresting I have the Desktop Runtime 8.0.15 while even MS site say the 6 is the last working for Win7.
The Game Demo based on 8 and as it run so it work for some strange reason. :)
ya, its odd it even installed lol
Somewhere I read that disabling Hardware Acceleration helped on some App.
However I dont know how I can run the game disabling HA on it.
Anyone can help me how to disable Hardware Acceleration on a specific App game exe?
Can't he just use the MS Edge WebView2 engine?
It is an option but the issue is finding the proper installer for Win7 (version 109) as Microsoft just nuked the downloads for everything that isn't 135 or 134. But I do believe it's possible to find an archive of 109 and use that.
I installed Webview2 trough Evergreen Bootstrapper what set the proper version for my OS, the last working for Win7: 109.0.1518.140
I don't have any experience with the Evergreen Bootstrapper and how it overall works and if there is any different. But I remember while testing something in Win7 earlier. I just went with the option of "Fixed version" for WebView2 instead when they still offered the 109 version
