Im using Classic Shell even on Win7. The old XP way was more clear to find apps in it list.

I need some help with techy guys or those who very familiar with Steam Mobile App.
You know I dont have smartphone, but one of my friend chat with me alot. He use multiple chat app and he told me he have serious issues with Steam Chat compare to other chat apps.
Im stubborn to install other chat app, so we are struggling atm.
So here is his issue, I quote him:

"Steam chat app is broken:
- often can't connect with your friend list and chats
- often crashes and closes itself
- can't share a video from the phone, only links, and sometimes they are broken too
- can't share cropped pics or downloaded pics, only screenshots, so i screenshot every pic
- the typing screen not expand if you write a bigger message
- overall it is an utterly crap app for chat, comparing it with apps who are invented for chatting purposes or chat agents"

Is this all common issue on Steam Mobile or he might have other source of issue?

steam just went through maintenance(tuesday) so it might be that, it is just the aftereffects of steam coming back online from maintenance

No, he complain about this since start. Today he just enraged so I decided to try help by asking here.

I have no problems with the app. it could be something to do with permissions and these crashes are very weird, but depends on the phone I guess?

The last update is on Aug 31, 2023

From day 1 I debloated it, and made it fit my taste.
My Win 11 has almost the exact minimalist look. That is not the problem.

macos looks and runs like dog duty lol , even more so compared to win 7, win 7 looks great and runs great.

Looking forward to Win10 being discontinued and possibly getting the same aftermarket support that Win7 did.

You don't want to receive updates in Win10 and wait until its support ends, so that you can then update it from dubious sources.

Yes, I absolutely do. My patience and tolerance for Microsoft Windows "Updates" has grown thin over the years. I have no use or need for extra advertising, telemetry, marketing or surveillance on my PCs.

you might wanna check the antique store for win7 sp1. make sure you install zone alarm for your firewall.
