I'm not following how this is an example of updates after Microsoft stopped supporting Windows 7, from Windows embedded and/or Server being applied and working for Windows 7?
so plz explain be the ms web site about different kb i've used for my test and why sha-1 are the same between all sku , i will be also curious to read something about from you
anyway welcome xd
I am not bothered about you, the argumentation for Windows 7 users but also Linux users are similar and revolve around made up rubbish to hide their lack of work / productivity.
There are no more new updates for Desktop versions of Windows 7.
There will never be another update released for Desktop versions of Windows 7.
Installing updates for Server 2008 into Desktop versions of Windows 7 will not extend the usable lifespan of Desktop versions of Windows 7.
Installing updates for Server 2008 into Desktop versions of Windows 7 will not update Desktop versions of Windows 7.
Any person that claims there is a new update released for Desktop versions of Windows 7 is lying and attempting to deceive the public with false information.
Any person that claims there is an app or program that contains updates for Desktop versions of Windows 7 is lying and attempting to deceive the public with false information.
This is not an argument. This is not something to be discussed, debated, or debunked. This is factual information. I feel it is important for any Windows 7 users that find this thread to know all of this information just in case they are arriving in this thread for the first time looking for new updates for Windows 7.
Again, why you bother?
Why bother with anything?
Dismissive questions beget dismissive answers.
One thing you ppl should understand that humans are different, with different needs. Showing up and add a snarky comment dosent change anything. Except trigger some here, like you did with me. If that was your purpose then well done I got baited.
this is a thread in the steam forums, not microsoft.. no one is looking for, or asking for, win 7 updates here.
read whats in the link instead of blatantly ignoring it.
so you are incorrect, it does state all those windows 7 versions (look at the link), but also due to the update itself, it applies to other nt6.1 os's as well..
same update (same kb number) for everything on this list, from the kb number linked by the other person.
https://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Search.aspx?q=KB4530734
in case it wasnt blatantly obvious, its a security singular update, that was deployed and applied to multiple nt6.1 os's that needed the update.
I did read the page. I loaded it and did Control-F to search the page for those versions of windows listed above, they are not found on that page.
I searched the entire page. "Windows 7 Home", "Windows 7 Professional", and "Windows 7 Ultimate" are not listed anywhere on that page at all.
That has already been explained to you many, many, many times. It seems you still do not understand so I will attempt to help educate you, again: There is no such thing as "NT 6.1 OS's". That literally does not exist. "NT 6.1" is not a Microsoft Product. "NT 6.1" is not a version of windows. Windows updates are only for specific versions of windows and no other version.
sorry, i dont need to be "educated" by somone who clearly doesnt have any knowledge on the subject.
anywho...
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_NT
wrong, microsofts os's have been built off the nt kernel for a very long time.
from nt3.1 up to nt10.
there is nt6.1 os's, just like there is nt10.0 os's, they do exist.
nt6.1 is a microsoft product, microsoft created and still use the nt kernel to this day.
nt6.1 is a version of windows, which are the versions using nt6.1, as opposed to the ones using nt10.0 (win 10 and 11).
ya, windows updates are for w/e nt kernel they are using, as mentioned by others and microsoft themselves, they mostly use singular deployable updates for core functions, security, ect.. to update all os versions on the same kernel, the only updates specific to each version are deployed for each version, just as has been explained to you multiple times.
fyi on the naming, they dont need to state a whole list of os's, win 7 sp1 encompasses all win 7 versions.... not to mention it is literally a win 7 update.
that said, please stop pushing misinformation here, we are doing fine without it, thanks.. bye and have a nice day
edit: im starting to wonder...
do you think all the different win 7 versions (home, pro, ultimate, ect..), get their own specific windows updates? cause im not sure why you fixate on names, or for that matter which win 7 version something states lol..
That's completely false and not true at all. You know that's not true when you wrote it. Why do you continue to repeat this same thing over and over when you know it's not true? Why do you make up random things that have nothing to do with anything? The version of Kernel that Windows is using has literally nothing to do with anything. Updates are labeled by Microsoft for which version of windows they should be installed in. You can not change that no matter how many things you make up, fabricate, or create.
I'll try one more time (maybe you'll learn this time): UPDATES FOR WINDOWS SERVER 2008 WILL NOT UPDATE DESKTOP VERSIONS OF WINDOWS 7.
I hope for your sake that some day you will understand this. I don't enjoy repeating myself or having to use words that even a child in kindergarten could understand but I don't see any other way to get the point across to you.
The only person posting any misinformation here is you: You completely made up this "NT 6.1 OS". That does not exist at all. That is something you created on your own for some unknown reason.
What is matter that it is working, because all version of NT 6.1 use the same update (security atleast). Exactly the same update files.
Even me who dont have that good knowledge clearly understood it. You only playing with words.
Also as multiple member here showed that they actualy updated their OS, because it worked as it is the exactly SAME update, just not labeled separatedly to every OS version.
You are that kind who cant accept being defeated.
