hello
rofl
seems mikeysoft is really desperate about the slow rate of adoption of it beta os w11 xd
https://www.neowin.net/news/microsoft-quietly-removes-official-windows-11-cputpm-bypass-for-unsupported-pcs/
but anyway it's a good news
It may only be the documentation that is removed; the Registry setting probably still works; planning on installing Windows 11 24H2 on my mom's i7-7700HQ laptop using that method.

The 7th Gen has all the same CPU and TPM features as the 8th Gen and thus it's an arbitrary decision by Microsoft to not support it for Windows 11.

hello
true and agree , it's a good move from mikeysoft imo despite i would prefer a better and more definitiv way like directly add this change into a w11 24h2 dvd. May be it will be done in a near futur , who's really knows...

What doesn't make sense however is why they don't support most 7th Gen processors but 8th Gen are just fine, despite both generations differing pretty much only in integrated graphics.

Spectre mitigation has been suggested but that would push the minimum to 9th Gen, and Mode Based Execution Control is already in the 7th Gen.
TPM 2.0 support is also in this generation.

They support Goldmont Plus, which is funny.

hello
may be because using w11 under 7th gen is not as confortable as the other one , no really clue in fact ??

When I was still running my 7700K I got Windows 11 through Insider Preview and actually found it to be smoother in some aspects than 10, though that could be the placebo effect of the animations.

hello
weird because w11 is a lot heavier than w10 in term of cpu/ram usage and other ressources for the same things more or less ...
minimum system req for both is a bit different ... can't talk about canary ( never downloaded), 24h2 is allready a good beta and i just want to test debloat and privacy under it and used directly the last released 24h2 available from mikeysoft for that and added autounattented.xml at the root of it

anyway, nowadays you do not have really the choice when you buy a new comp :
w11 most of the time if not all but true you can also choose linux as you main os
and it wouldn't be a good choice to install w10 on a new comp ...
so you just have 2 real choices atm : linux or w11

Smooth animations are easy, doesn't mean the OS isn't slow

It looks like this summer I will have to revisit Windows 11 too and do a script or something for the next workstation.

And I don't understand why Zen1+ is supported while it is the same as Zen1 which is not.

The only deciding factor should be TPM 2.0 support, if Zen doesn't support 2.0 while Zen+ does, there's the reason

Strange, in the same time TPM 2.0 modules for motherboards are being sold.
They must be using older PSP?

I received another refusal from the developer to continue supporting his game on Windows 7 due to the fact that he decided to upgrade his Unity to the latest version, which no longer supports it. Apparently, the option of returning the old version somehow did not suit him.

Unity dropped win 7 support in v.2023.2 due to mix of win 7 end of lts and Steam saying it's stopping steam client support for win7 from Jan 2024 -.-

Unfortunately, I did not found any easy workaround for that, so that's it
RedLightning 2 月 2 日 上午 11:08
Yea.. now there is some 'unity' for you.

Another great 'Microsoft Partner' in my humble opinion.

Yeah sadly Unity 6 and Unity 2023.2.3 and above not working on Win7.
