I know this has been talked about before, but is there still an official way to download an older version of Steam?

Mozilla has stated that they will re-evaluate the situation after ESR 115 EOL.
they could be putting themselves together and creating a significantly better product in the time they take to reevaluate if they wanna give an extra 4 months more of support for a 16 year old operating system. last time i checked Mozilla was going pretty rough.. though i haven't checked up on browser wars because there's no reason to switch from Brave. and what benefit does anyone gain from supporting such old unsupported OSes anyway?

nah, they are fine supporting w/e they want, also good on them for doing it.

they're POSSIBLY negotating if they even WANT to. which is dumb because OBVIOUSLY they should be letting go of Windows 7. (come on. even shills have to admit that 7 is well entruly dead now) we are nearing EOL for 10 already. its nearly time for a mass switch to Linux ans a ubiquitous ditching of Invasive anticheat, Pay to win enabled Slop.

but there are still other modern browsers out there being made, too support even older than 7, while supporting current os's

those ate not ubiquitous fully featured daily drivable web browsers. you don't have a point mate. you all need to stop lying to everyone (including yourselves) about how viable a 16 year old operating system is to use. you are hurting everyone you know with this pointless rhetoric about "sticking it to the man" or whatever when you are outright supporting the man himself.

Their client is just a lot more invasive than Steam as it performs checks on basically every installed program you have in your system whereas Steam mostly minds its own business

Steam may not be fully "private" in what it checks and how but it's far less invasive and not at all with malicious intent

That subreddit has been proven to create and share false information many times over, nothing about that subreddit can be trust at all.

In the case of the link you provided, that has been proven to be false information, the person who created it purposely did not show everything Steam was actually doing. Tried to post on that subreddit what was actually happening and one of the moderators of that subreddit removed it.

The fact is Steam looks at far more information than EGS does, you can see it here in this post. Steam scans other store clients like GOG Galaxy and EGS, it looks at games installed by those clients, looks at things like Spotify, and other software that has nothing to do with Steam at all, even software that isn't even currently running.

and yes epic is not a spyware , nor steam, it's just that both launcher have some 2 kinds of customers ( us who bought the games, and the other who place their games on their store ) and both are too curious about your activites and what you're doing on your comp ...

If there is a reason to treat EGS like spyware, then there is a lot more reasons to treat Steam like spyware and should be avoided at all costs.

EAC isn't spyware either.

i meant "treat EGS as spyware" as in to stay the everloving S(%T away from it. nobody needs it and it serves to actively make PC Gaming significantly worse.

Except it objectively doesn't make pc gaming worse at all, it objectively makes it better because having real competition is a good thing.

having games be made timed exclusive on a completely irrelevant launcher just so you can claim competition is NOT doing any good for the consumer. nor does it ever do anything but actively HURT the developer. this is indeed a fact and is not up for debate. none of us are interested in hearing someone shill Epic games and their pitiful scummy attempts to sound like they are in any position of power in the PC Gaming market. this is a company that needs to be ignored at every second of existence.
Nosteru 5 FEB a las 5:48 a. m.
I donno. I have 15 free games already on Epic and I just recently joined there in december. I was in similar sentiment against Epic, thinking they are evil.
Im not sure this is bad for Developers. Both company do his bad things, but this is how bussiness work. Epic made exclusives, Valve cut 30% of everything. Developers can decide what platform they choose with it favor and drawback.
