You mean the Monthly Rollup updates? They are good to have, but for sure they are not perfect. In Win7 case, they just reinstall(?) the older patches or something like that.

no not the rollups, im talking about microsoft security essentials, it was its own "update", but only checked your system.

Yeah I read on many site Win Defender is on line with 3rd party AVs.

I only got msrt. I think because Defender is disabled here, Im using Avast Free for many years now.

Hello community,

I have a question regard Win7 OS.
So there is a chance my motherboard SATA controller dieing, atleast have issue.
I have another motherboard and CPU ready to switch.
My question that my actual Win7 license can not used on that another mobo right?
What hapening if I dont register my Win7? It stop working, or some function there?
How things on an unlicenced Win7 OS? Also if there is a solution to get the licence as Im the same owner.

you need to first remove the license from your old motherboard. then you can transfer it to the new motherboard. if your harddrive does not fail, you should still be able to use it on the new motherboard without having to reinstall windows. though you have to activate it again on the new motherboard.

If you don't have a license on Windows 7, it will work just fine. The only limitations are:
-The background will become black (even if you change it, after an hour will blackout again)
-You will get a watermark in the bottom right
-You will get pop up after an hour (at the same time when the background picture changes itself to a black hole) saying "You may be a victim of software counterfeiting."
-Updates... What updates? There are still some, but not all of them will install if you have to, but the solution is pretty simple. Restart the trial license.

Surely there is a way to disable Windows from checking itself for license key, but meh...

It say Windows 7 Pro OA. I purchased it trough SoftDirect what made used Win resell with Disc they made and key with it. I guess OA is OEM?
