Yep. I said that. And that statement you just wrote is true. Windows 7 does not have any more updates. Windows 7 will never have any new updates released by Microsoft ever again. I would think everyone commenting in this thread would know that by now. That should be old news by now. I'm not sure why you chose to bring that up again.

Officialy Microsoft stopped updating Win7.

Unofficialy there is some workaround for update it.

Everyone can decide wich way he go. Who decided to stick on Win7 know the things. In my case I go the official way as also take extra care on security with carefuly browsing and useful applications. However everyone free to use whatever way he/she want.

I realy would not see any more fight about this. No, I dont try to controll anyone here, but for peace on this thread I ask you all to behave.

I'm still surprised and shocked seeing new updates here that steam moderators allow this to continue. It should of been shut down months ago. They started locking down all the Windows XP threads after a few years. Maybe they'll start doing that with Windows 7 threads some day.

I want to write this comment to clear up some things. The first being: In this thread I never once tried to start fights with anyone, argue with anyone, or do/say anything to make anyone mad. What has happened in the past and more recently is that some people did not like the comments that I wrote in to this thread. Some how (despite my best efforts to remain neutral and polite) some people were still angered by my comments that I wrote. I don't quite understand why but it is other people that are the problem and had problems with what I wrote. That is their problem, not my problem. If someone does not like to see or read the things I choose to write then they can go use the block feature so they do not see my words anymore.

But trying to start fights with me or writing terrible, awful, nasty comments (including trying to name shame me in public claiming I am someone's alt or some other person that I am not) in this thread in public is not the way to go about it. I will not name anyone specifically for their previous actions. Do note I did not quote anyone in this comment for that reason.

Another thing that happened is some people (that I will not name) decided that they did not like things that I wrote in other threads so chose to attack me in public here in this thread. I'm not sure why people chose to do this sort of behavior but they did do it.

This is supposed to be a cozy thread. It would be very nice if other people could just leave me alone. Please just let me comment what ever I feel like commenting in peace without all of this behavior that requires me to involve the moderators. Y'all got this thread locked once already for what you did in responding to me. I do not want to see it happen again. I like this thread. I was sad when I saw it locked before. :(

Can everyone commenting here just stop it with all of this bad behavior so we won't have to summon the moderators again?Please? Please please please try to remain peaceful while commenting here in this thread. It's not much to ask. If anyone has problems with what me (or other people) say in other threads then just go respond in whatever other thread it is.. not here. That would be a very easy solution.

SteamOS isn't really all that special apart from the fact that it's made specifically by Valve for Steam, it's just a custom version of Arch currently made for handheld devices with certain hardware like the Deck. It's currently not very flexible, especially since it's immutable, meaning that it's designed to keep the core system files unchanged to maintain reliability, a necessity for something like the Steam Deck when it's often becoming the first distro for many users.

You can use other distros and get more or less the same results, there really isn't any point for people to wait specifically for SteamOS to be officially released for other platforms. There isn't anything unique about it that can't be attained on other distros, including Gamescope.
