why bother with 11 just stick with 7

Why bother with 7 at all? At some point you're going to put so much work to keep that thing working that moving to Linux would be the natural choice.

Which is what I did after having a taste of 11 with this laptop.

Currently running CachyOS. Arch-Based (for that sweet sweet AUR), performance focused and overall works like a charm.

Why bother with 7 at all? At some point you're going to put so much work to keep that thing working that moving to Linux would be the natural choice.

true windows wont last beyond 11 no one likes it and ppl who say they do lies suprised eu hasnt sued microsoft for monopoly for putting windows into every pc you buy from stores

Interresting note that on Win7 we can use almost top tier performance GPUs, based on this comparison.

Both AMD RX 6950 XT and Nvidia RTX 3090 Ti have driver for these on Win7.
Ofc all depend on drivers, but cool to know.

i tryed cachyos on vm, but i rememeber i've failled to install because the setup button wasn't here xd

using because you have drivers capable of giving the os accessssing the gpu does not mandatory mean using it in a normal way...
eg - even using rtx 3090 on w7 , do not gives you access to dx12,hdr or even rtx and do not talk about vulkan

honestly no clue, i just remember the botton button in the center was empty and did not let give me the possibility to install it on vm..
i remember you setup a ram disk first and it install on vm from this ram disk
may be i should retry ....

Never tried it in a VM, so perhaps it's a vm issue of some kind. But, bare metal it works 100%.

So what is the last generation GPU you think working well on Win7?
As AMD I think the last GCN (RX Vega, R VII) maybe the first RDNA (RX 5xxx).

no clue you have to check the pdf that usually goes with drivers...
and like i said just before, you won't do hdr , rtx or dx12 even using a rtx 3090 with the last drivers on w7 ....it works but it's far from beeing optimal
