He was banned for a long time , no clue if he still use w7 anymore.

If you need to mod it to get the same result, it's not better.

Im using Classic Shell on Win7 to look it more classic. It is a minor stuff. The OS can be good even it have bad UI, that easiely can be fixed by a Mod like that.

i am using 9.01 and vxkex because it use python but linux user and w10+ can use newer release without any problems
All you need to do is to load the cert and change a bit your os network config to natively use a proxy and all others programs running on your os will have their dialogues be decrypted.

It's a little hard for microsoft to force us to do anything when we install Windows (10 or 11) without the network cable connected and no internet access then disable everything before going online with it. That's such a deceptive article. Smart people don't install Windows 10 or 11 with an internet connection already connected to it. That's just silly.

good advice, as i am thinking of trying windows 10 on my laptop when i switch out its harddrive. if that does not work however, i will reinstall windows 7.

Make sure you disable the wifi, don't connect it during setup and don't connect the lan cable. Then copy over things like Geek Uninstaller (to force remove Edge), Shutup 10 (disable lots of stuff) and Win Aero Tweaker to disable things like windows defender, firewall, onedrive, etc. And go through all of the settings to disable tracking, fingerprinting, inking, typing history, remove pre-installed microsoft apps, etc before connecting it to the internet. And remember to go through all of that again every time that you do updates.

Personally with Windows 10 systems I prefer to completely disable windows updates with both WinAeroTweaker & Shutup 10 so they aren't automatic then once a month when I decide I want to do updates I re-enable them, do updates, then re-disable updating until the next month so it only updates when I decide it's time to do it and not automatically when ever it wants.
