Do not worry on pdf as there is many tools that can open it like your browser or libreoffice.
I was more thinking about adobe photoshop xd
Windows 7 Home Basic, Home Premium, Professional and Ultimate (Build 7601) can all be updated using UpdatePack7. The current release is 2024.6.12 and I have used it myself on several Windows 7 Pro and Ultimate PCs.
Or should I say "Mint is BASED Ubuntu."
hehehe
LMDE is also an option but it's not on par with the regular Linux Mint yet. It's getting there, don't get me wrong, but I feel the regular release is a better option ATM.
But, by the time YOU make the switch, LMDE might become exactly what you are looking for.
Edit: LMDE stands for Linux Mint Debian Edition. As the name suggest, it is based upon pure Debian instead of Ubuntu. It's developped as a "backup" in case Ubuntu makes changes that turns into into a bad base.
Finaly I decided that I go to regular Mint after Win7 (hopefuly fsr from now), so I stick with that.
Linux was always a mistery for me. I respected it power, but I always looked at it as the OS for high experts. However the Win10 (well it started with Win8) came what I refused to use. Over time everything I readed about these OSes hardened my decision. I wanted to stay on Win7 forever, I belived it possible. Now I know it is not possible, so I started looking on Linux, because more and more place I read how it turned to user friendly environment as also Steam help with games able to play on Linux.
One thing I know because of my stubborness that I rather go live in a forest alone than switch to Win10, so my future is Linux even I scared to switch as also Im lazy and dont like new things much.
The only moment where Linux might become a bit more complicated is if you run into issues. Which is kinda rare with stable distros like Mint. So, I wouldn't stress too much over it.
When that happens, the Mint community is, overall, very welcoming and helpful. So, again, don't stress too much over it.
one example out of many: compare the difficulty of setting up dolby atmos on windows vs your linux distro of choice.
community controlled things have their own set of issues also. end of the day, i want my tool to be the best for that job. for cutting edge gaming, utilizing the latest hardware and VR stuff, that's objectively windows.
