Yeah prices are pretty bad and availability low. Guess some manufacturing or supply chain problem again.
I think I got a 1tb for $45 at best buy last year now the 512 is $80 lol I'll just wait

There was a large oversupply of RAM and SSDs a few months ago causing prices to drop significantly. Flash manufacturers have decreased production causing prices the rise again.

I had to buy some 4TB SATA SSDs the other day, 4 of them, and I was genuinely shocked how expensive they still are, The Samsung Evo ones I bought were more expensive than Gen 3 NVMe drives, it's crazy.

Earthquake in Taiwan. TSMC production is interrupted. Supply Chain logistics out of the country will cause shortages for a bit while it recovers.

oddly enough, there was also some small earth quakes, around the same time in the US, in places not known for having them to often.

In Canada, SATA SSD's have been equal to or more expensive than NVME SSD's for the last year or so.

maybe buy m.2 -pcie adapter if its cheaper XD

Yup, why I bought my 3x 2tb nvme drives when they were super cheap.

If you got a MicroCenter near you, they still have their in house brand Inland drives for still cheap, though don't expect them to be Samsung quality, but are pretty decent for the price.

Yep, you can still have a good NVMe gen 4 2TB for like $200

Yeah. Samsung increases prices by ≈15% per quarter.

Welcome to inflation, please take an increase in rent and your unadjusted income and enjoy your stay.
