Sick and tired of OLED burn-in? Local Dimming Zones are on the way! LED monitors lack the burn-in that OLEDs are plagued with. LED monitors also lack the smooth, crisp imagery that OLEDs can display. Local Dimming Zones are 'evening the playing field'. Let's have a gander:

zoned lcd monitors do help blacks in the dark zone get darker
but if one pixel is not black in that zone, then the backlight will need to be on, making some bleed

but they cant be nearly as thin as edge lit panels, they need to be directly back lit displays

most zoned are 8-16 zones
4x2 or 4x4 controllers for each zone

but same with yt vid that compares audio, the playback is on your device, so the difference you see/hear is not really the difference of the devices the vid is comparing

zoned led tvs/monitors have been around for a long time too
exact same tech as led backlit displays

the mini led zoned monitor he was testing KTC M27T20
has a controller with 10 backlight zones

Ah yes- burn in. The thing that was supposed to happen to both my plasma TVs and my OLED and yet has never happened.

plasma panel will see some burn after about 5 years of use
oled after about a year of use

again static images are not friendly to burn
taskbar if left on desktop, or channel logo on tvs are most common

This is why you don't jump head first into brand new tech. Let it get a couple revisions first.

The only time I ever noticed TV burn in on a plasma are when old-people leave Fox News playing 24/7. The logo eventually burns in. Happened to my parent's CRT too before they finally got an LCD television.

For everyone else watching varied content and actually turning the display off once in a while, they'll probably never run into an issue. Also using a brightness level lower than staring directly into the sun will help too.

But as long as it could happen, this will give some people anxiety.

Yep.
Those are the more expensive displays. If one is going to spend the more expensive monetary option on such a display, one would expect to not have the potential to not be worth that monetary amount. I'm just typing here, friend.
