HELP! ASUS gaming 144/165hz monitor options disappeared
Need some help for the following problem that is driving me up the walls.

I have an - ASUS TUF Gaming 32" 1440P HDR Curved Monitor (VG32VQ1B) - QHD (2560 x 1440), 165Hz monitor, my Desktop is an Asus ROG tower running windows 11, RTX 2070 Super, 32gb of Ram, etc.

I booted up today after work and the screen suddenly flashed black before returning with a weird grainy resoultion. My monitor is now stuck in 59.9hz, and the active signal mode is WELL above the native display at 3840 x 2160 at 60hz, meanwhile display in desktop mode is 2560 x 1440 at 60hz.

This exact setup with no changes ran 144hz at native resolution just fine until suddenly it's capped itself at 60hz. I don't know how this has happened or how to fix this

Reset the Monitor to Factory Defaults within the Monitor OSD menu.

DDU wipe the GPU Drivers, reboot and install fresh from NVIDIA. When done reboot once more and configure the Monitor if that has GSync/FreeSync enable that. Then configure the OS Desktop and other GPU Settings via NVIDIA Control Panel.

Do not enable NVIDIA DSR unless you have a reason to allow screen resolutions that Monitor does not normally do, such as 2160p for example

Hold down the MENU key and select MENU > System Setup > Reset > select " Yes "

and recheck cable connection.

I'm assuming you meant the menu key for the monitor itself right?

If so I did the following and nothing has changed.

I'll try a driver reinstall and let you know how that goes, DSR is off as well.

I don't see how the OS COULD be pushing and applying a higher res then the screens native res without DSR being active.

Bad Nvidia install maybe? I did a clean full driver install from their website and suddenly everything was back at 144hz with the option available again, though I'm not sure how it could've forced my refresh rate down. Nonetheless I appreciate your help.

use nvidia control panel, disable dsr, and set the res, pick from pc res options, not tv hd/sd

VSR = AMD
DSR = NVIDIA

Yea once you pick the screen res look to the right of that for a Refresh Rate drop down box. Also change the COLOR Format and Range to RGB and FULL
