Installation for Windows 11 standard user
I’m trying to find the best way to install steam for my son to use with his Windows 11 standard user account. He has previously run into problems installing games because he installed steam as a standard user. I realize most people install and run it as administrator but he is not allowed an administrator account.

So, should I install while logged into his standard user account but by running setup as administrator? Should I alter or provide any special permissions to the steam folder or .exe?

Thanks for recommendations.

The the Admin user needs to install such apps; then configure the App EXE to "Run As Admin for All Users" That would allow Limited OS User Accounts to run the app without any problems. And now that Steam will be run via admin permissions, installing and running games shouldn't be an issue since that Run As Admin set for Steam.exe would trickle down any games/apps run from Steam.

In that case would that mean the Steam Client could be used to escalate privileges, i.e. add cmd.exe as a Non-Steam game and get full admin privileges?
