car exhaust manifold as a computer air intake/exhaust
i have an extra exhaust manifold laying around my house, it's basically brand new.
would it ♥♥♥♥ up my cooling if i used it as an air intake/hot air exhaust?
it would look so cool tho

the exhaust manifold is for a 2.5 liter straight 3 diesel engine btw.
i'm not scared of case modding and my computer's case is already made out of aluminum and weighs like 8000 pounds.

I didn't even know what an exhaust manifold was until ten seconds ago when I googled it. How would that help?

okay so basically it's just what bolts directly onto the engine, usually it has the exhaust pipe welded onto the end of it but mine doesn't.
it ended up being the wrong part for a project so it's just laying in storage rn but i just had this hilarious idea to make a based af intake or exhaust for my computer's cooling system.

heh, interesting. Maybe you can squeeze all the pc parts inside that thing, draw a back panal and usb ports on it and maybe a window and then it could be a pc case?

if its a turbo manifold, and you can spin the turbine to move air, that would be kinda neat

oh no it's not nearly that big.
it's basically just a metal pipe branch.
i want to attach to my computer case to blow air because it would look awesome and i have the space for it.

it's naturally aspirated unfortunately.

but i was considering going to the local hardware store and buying an exhaust pipe cover flapper (if you've ever looked at a piece of heavy machinery, you know what i'm talking about) to put one on there.

oh yeah and if anyone's concerned about diesel soot; don't be, it has never seen an ounce of exhaust.

most diesel are turbo

bring pc turbo button

doesn't matter, mine isn't.
Even if you had a turbo to go with the manifold, not sure how you’d spin it fast enough to cool the case, or keep the turbo quiet for that matter.
With the right lighting, it would look pretty cool, be a great case for a repair shop of some kind

doesnt need to move fast, just pull/push some air
exhaust side is meant to spin the turbo, so it wont be very effective anyway
more for looks than functionality

1 Moisture traps are indicative.

1 Funneling/bottlenecking/turbo are a worthwhile endeavor if attempting to cause system to hover.

1 Liquid cooling of this nature would possible need a mop and bucket.

1 Possible wire management potential.

1 To jet stream air with pressure would dislodge components until a time when manufacturers begin to build them with this in mind. Sound would be lessened more of a hiss like gas going into a home... would not be comfortable with a sound like that personally.

1 If were to vent air up into tower and have this be like attempting to prevent Stagnant air can create pockets of heat, humidity, and CO2 imbalance in a nursery and have to bounce/reflect off the tower or walls so not directly. Be an interesting concept if tower base was curved and allowed channeling.

(what's with all the 1s? well in class today you need to draw a line connecting what equals what on the page to get out of kindergarten) There is another page.

bro what are you talking about?

i'm gonna drill some holes in the side panel of my case to fit the manifold.
then i'll see about fitting some small fans on the engine-side of it. so that way it makes actual exhaust.

please note that i don't want this to "replace" my computer's cooling in any way. i just want it to provide a semi-functional decorative element because i think it would look cool asf.
i'm an aspiring diesel mechanic, and i want to customize my computer a little to reflect that.
