that's about right, though i like to spread it a bit verse use the clasisic circle, you get more area contact, but the amount is about right.. Perhaps instead of a green pea, maybe a large chick pea.
OP, Basically you just want a thin layer that covers the whole contact area with out squeezing out the side. If it does wipe it up. Personally i don't use the metalic stuff as i don't want to run the risk of a short. It's also not needed
amount wise, your only using a little bit of the tube, it might be a gram. I never weighed it, but a small tube will do 5-6 comps or replacements easy.
if your not overclocking which i don't do as i don't find the need, it really doesn't mater, just use a decent paste. besides you most likely are going to clean the inside of your comp at some point anyway, just redo the paste then. Which reminds me, I need to do that myself.
